::Do I really need to write this review. Oh, no. But I will write it anyway and rather a short one. Besides having a historical importance, this place also offers wonderful view of Potomac river from the back and awesome sunset view of Washington monument. NEW: They also opened up the museum beneath the stairs which has parts of speech and pictures to exemplify its importance as public place where people hang out or the civil right movement rallies were held etc.

::A must see for anyone with a passion for history. The designers really did such a good job incorporating the symbolism in this memorial. Breathtaking. We parked and walked about a mile or so, which was mostly a nice walk with much to look at. Once you get close to Lincoln’s statue it is extremely crowded, but people are moving in and out quite frequently so it’s pretty easy to get right in front. There are wheelchair ramps leading to the basement, which has an elevator to reach the statue.

::Beautiful, beautiful monument. Walked down along the national mall, right along the reflecting pool and then climbed the stairs to see Mr. Lincoln sitting there in all of his glory. Then to turn around and get that amazing view of the Washington Monument is something everyone should do once in their lives.

::Very fun and historical. Plenty of shade and places to sit if you have small children. It can get pretty crowded so keep an eye on your small ones. It is also near many other sights like a huge bust of Albert Einstein, the Veterans monument and the Washington monument. It's not really close to food, so I would suggest eating before or plan on eating after. Also, it's about a mile walk from the metro. So, if that's a problem, I would plan on taking a bus or car. You can rent mopeds and bikes in this area which can be fun.

::wonderful piece of our American history, and culture. Parking within reasonable walking distance can prove to be very difficult during the day. We finally found parking after sunset which worked out well. the memorial was well lit and nice to look at. turn 180 degrees and you get a great view of the Washington Memorial. The Lincoln Memorial is within easy walking distance of several famous memorials including the Vietnam war Memorial. don't visit Washington as a tourist without making time to see this awesome place.
