  I've been to cities where the light rail system was large and throughout the city. Phoenix is at the beginning of rail but has the potential to grow into a large system that may compete against other large metropolitan cities. The rail cars are clean, rail stops are pretty clean for a city and connects to several cities. I am not the fan of the advertising on the rail since you can hardly see out of the windows but I guess something has to pay for the system. I am excited about future expansions and beyond. Good system, great security staff, easy to navigate and clean.

  The ride was smooth Very clean I would have given it a 5 star but I was solicited while being a passenger. Kind of ruined the experience for me. We rode from 19th Avenue & Dunlap to end of the line in mesa, round trip. 4.00 for an all day pass. Was a great value.

  It rides so smooth. Too tempted to sleep, but no sleeping on public transportation.

  Not crazy bout public transpo but the lightrail is perty convenient and fastish

  The light rail is convenient and free to ticket holders of downtown events. We liked that it was free and that there was a safe park and ride relatively close. Last night we attended the Neil Diamond Concert and rode from the end of the line in North Phoenix to the stop at 3rd and Jefferson. Security guards boarded about half way and they were welcome, even though there were no issues. Coming back was a different story. The concert let out at 10:45, so the Washington Street stop was crowded. Many people had to stand. At no point during the entire trip north did any security officers board and no one checked tickets. This was unfortunate because about half way, a large group of unchaperoned teenagers boarded. They were not dangerous, but unmannerly and disruptive. At one point several began throwing round candies on the floor. They seemed to think this dangerous activity was hysterically funny. Many of the riders were older people for whom this was a falling danger. They got off and some sort of order was restored. As a woman, I would not ride the light rail alone even in the daylight. I would never consider it after dark. This experience proves my point. What should have been a pleasant ending to a nice evening was impacted by this and I shall reconsider my transportation choices another time.
