  In early January I found actual live lice on my daughter. Poor thing had been itching for a while, and despite my looking, my inexperienced eyes didn't see anything... until that fateful day. Now, in a panic, I used the first company I called, which wasn't Lice Happens (and I'll keep them nameless). Sure, they got the job done, but when they left, I did not at all feel prepared on how to deal with this again, should it ever pop up again. And I had some nits too. How the heck was I supposed to do my own hair if this happened again? And their costs were on the half hour, and my bank account took quite the hit. Really, quite the hit. The next day, after I came down from my panic, I researched other companies. And I called Lice Happens. Let me interrupt myself here and say that they are now programmed into my phone as "The company I should have called first". I spoke with Peter at length about what happened, our experience with the other company, how I felt taken advantage of from a financial perspective, and that I was feeling so paranoid now and didn't feel that I could handle this going forward if it became an issue. He gave me some education and reassurance over the phone, and I went to their website and got some basics (comb, some other stuff). Fast forward a few months, and I swore I saw a nit in my daughter's hair again. Panicked, I kept her home and called Peter. We talked it through, and he recommended I try a comb out first to see if there was really anything there because he didn't want to inconvenience me and come out there and charge me if there might not be anything. Now don't get me wrong, he had his schedule out and told me exactly when he COULD be there, he just wanted to give me some reassurance in the meantime. Here's a gentleman with a business who is trying to reassure me, and is empowering me, and helping me to deal with this situation in every way possible. You have to have a lot of respect for a company who is so invested in helping you that (as you can see with other reviews here) they teach you and empower you to deal with the situation should it arise again, but ALSO reassure you they are there to help you as well. That's why when people have asked us what we did in January, I start my story by saying who we should have used and give the information for Lice Happens. Peter, and everyone at Lice Happens, THANK YOU SO MUCH for being non-alarmist, reassuring, understanding, and empowering. It means so much the way you conduct your business, and you truly treated me with such caring and understanding. You are all truly the best. Thank you thank you thank you. You deserve more than just 5 stars!

  Peter and Katie were great. They came the day I called and were extremely professional, efficient, informative and made dealing with this issue much more pleasant than expected. They are both great with kids and fun to be around. It is obvious that they prefer referrals and not repeat customers, which is always nice since we prefer not to be!!!

  Peter was amazing. He was incredibly responsive both on the phone and in person. Peter was very professional and competent, combing through our hair and explaining about lice , the life cycle, and how to eradicate and then prevent it’s recurrence. He was so reassuring, calm and kind. He was especially just right with my daughter, who got nervous and started to cry at first, but then warmed up to him within minutes, as she saw how easygoing and gentle he was. By the end of Peter’s visit to our apartment, not only were we confidently lice-free, but we were all happy. My shy daughter even made him a present before he left! Not only did Peter rid us of lice, but he actually made the experience educational, reassuring and even pleasant. I feel as if I won’t even be stressed if we ever get lice again — I’ll just call Peter.

  Fantastic. Peter was so wonderful. He explained everything clearly over the phone and then moved schedules around so that he’d be able to come your house the same day. I learned a lot — about dealing with lice when my kid inevitably comes in contact again, catching it early, simple maintenance strategies, etc. in addition to being a great myth-buster about lice, Peter was really just fun to hang out with and talk to as he took care of our entire home (3 out of 4 ended up needing treatment). Really, just great.

  Incredibly professional and reassuring! Peter made this all VERY easy and left me feeling prepared to finish treatment and tackle the next bout if we have one, because...lice happens. He made scheduling easy, arrived on time, put my two kids completely at ease, and thoroughly de-loused a whole family and babysitter. Even better, he taught me about the treatment he was doing and how to do aftercare and watched me to make sure I'd mastered the technique. I absolutely recommend this service, which is family run, and worth the price.
