    Today we had a lunch at Le Revage Restaurant, the meal was amazing and the service was excellent. Our waiter Pedro was so attentive and polite, he gave us wonderful advice for the menu options and it was a very wonderful experience for me and my family. I do advise you to ask for Pedro when you go there because I couldn't have asked for a better waiter. This restaurant definitely deserves 5 stars!

    I have eaten in 1000's of restaurants in NYC. 100's of them being French. Le Rivage has no right to call itself a restaurant and especially of "French Cuisine" I have never had a worse meal in the city. The pate was tasteless and was probably out of a can. The escargot were soggy and had almost no garlic or quality butter taste. My so called French Onion Soup burger who they advertised as winning many awards had little texture and much less quality. My daughter duck was hard and dry and my wife's shrimp tasted like they were frozen. I can't understand how a place like this can survive in NYC. Maybe it's the poor people who don't know any better. I'm sorry for you because French Cuisine is amazing but Le Rivage is not. They get one star for service. I have to say they were respectful and courteous.

    It's been at this location for years. Food and atmosphere always good. Service excellent and prices are fair. Good restaurant for before or after Broadway shows. However, their space is limited and therefore tables are small and crowded together, but this doesn't result in high noise levels. Highly recommended.

    I wanted to like this place more, but I struggled with it. The steak was good (especially the peppercorn sauce that came with it - I could drink that with a straw), and so were the mushrooms and spinach that came with it. The bisque was just pretty good, but the problem was my wife's dish. She had the duck and it was really fat and not especially flavorful. You should get that right at a French restaurant. I can't eat a lot of sugar, so I got the "fresh" strawberries. I didn't even finish them. They tasted like they came from the bottom of the sample bowl at the grocery store. The atmosphere felt like an old hotel -- maybe that's appealing to you. The thing is, with so much competition in NYC, you can't afford to be OK. The service was otherwise really good and the price of the prix fix menu was good.

    I always thought that French Restaurants sort of have it's charm and always keep up with high standards of food. But after I visited Le Rivage restaurant, oh boy!! how was I wrong! I ordered fried duck there and I think it wasn't a duck, it was rather duck mummy. It was so dry that I had to take water after each bite and chew for 10 minutes. The sauce on duck was pure sugar, sweet like a desert. And the irony of it all is that server who took our order told me: "The duck is the best! Good choice!"))))) and right when he took the order he ended his shift and never came back to our table! Oh how I wanted to express my opinion about duck to him at that moment! Oh right and the last thing: the bill was $50! good way to spend your hard earned money on such disgusting food!
