  Best Deli in LA! best known for their #19. Slow cooked pastrami is hand cut to order, with tangy cole slaw on top. The twice baked rye is made on the premises. Crisp crust soft rye. If you live in LA , make the schlep.

  Well, this place is an icon! It was well worth the drive to DTLA for it, too. All I have to say is pastrami pastrami pastrami!!! They are famous for their pastrami sandwiches and rightfully so. There is parking across the street in a monitored lot which makes things easier. Langer's rests on the middle of downtown across the street from MacArthur Park. Not the safest area in Los Angeles, but the walk from the parking lot to the restaurant should be fine. Langer's usually sports a line out the door. That's what kind of place this is. At the time of day we went, it was still packed and no line to get in. We sat down and each ordered a pastrami sandwich and an order of pastrami chili fries. Needless to say, half of it came home with us. I find myself craving this sandwich. Must try if you have guests from out of town. A lot to see down there and the patrons are the Untied Colors of Benetton. Very diverse.

  Tl;dr : Go early (or order for curbside) & go hungry. I can only compare this LA institution to others such as Katz' NYC and Harold's in New Jersey... Langer's punches its weight. Sandwiches are smaller than the monsters served at the east coast meccas (but still generous). Pickles and mustard are milder. Crowds are better-managed and the rye bread is surprisingly superior. We had the #19 (pastrami with slaw and Russian dressing on rye) and shared some fries. No one left hungry.

  Just as good as everyone says it is. Classic joint that one must eat at while living or vacationing in Los Angeles. Found curbside parking pretty easily. Service was great. The pastrami sandwiches are the best. I’ve never had better. This place definitely deserves a 5 star rating.

  Nachdem ich bei unzähligen Restaurants über das pastrami sandwich gelesen hatte musste ich es probieren! Wir fuhren also zum langer's und konnten direkt davor parken. Das typisch aussehende ami Restaurant und die vielen Bedienungen die sich um einen kümmerten machten einen guten Eindruck. Nicht lange mussten wir warten bevor wir einen Tisch zugewiesen wurden und unsere Bestellung tätigen könnten. Die Portionen waren, wie überall, riesig und sehr lecker. Wir können dieses Restaurant natürlich nur jedem weiterempfehlen!
