I ride an Electra 7D, so ... not an expensive bike, costs $300 new. I'd broken a spoke on the rear wheel and it had a bad enough wobble that I had to unhook the rear brake. I suspect I'd been riding on that broken spoke for months too. The front also needed trueing. They estimated $45 for replacement of the spoke and trueing both wheels, and i left it overnight. When I returned the next day to pick it up, the wheels were straighter than they probably were new, and they only charged me $30. "The front wheel didn't need that much work" the mechanic said. I did spend $15 on two sets of new brake pads, so hey, the quoted price and new brake pads which the mechanic said I need, thrown in. I ride over the same terrible roads here in San Jose you all do, and have been using a bike trailer a lot over the past 6 months, so I'd told myself I'd get my bike wheels trued when I was all done with the move to a new building I was using my bike trailer for, but when I tried to at least get most of the wobble out of my wheel myself and realized I had a broken spoke, that stopped me from putting this off. There's a saying, "Beware of amateurs with spoke wrenches" and it's a good one to keep in mind. If you have a choice at all, have a trained bike wheel mechanic work on your wheels. This place looks small from the front but it's about 4X as big as it looks from the front. There's a ton of stuff in there and they do group rides too, even one that's nice and slow for beginners.

This is, by far, one of the nicest bike shops that I've ever been to. The location isn't big, but they have a good selection. I went in looking for some very specific parts, and they didn't have them, but they ordered them and got them to me very quickly. The people are the kindest souls you've ever met. They know their stuff, they are polite, and friendly. I've gone back just to say hi I like them so much. A quick tip: These guys have free group rides on Saturday and Sunday. The group of people that show up are from all over the area. They leave fairly early in the morning, but having a good group of great guys and gals to ride with (with sometimes groups as large as 25) makes the ride entertaining. If you want to socialize on the ride, you can. If you want to push yourself, someone will do that with you. And on the off chance something happens to you or your bike, there is always, always, someone to lend a hand. Its free, so you should consider trying it.

Once again I'm very happy with customer service. They're always willing to answer any questions and trust me I have a lot of them. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I told myself I was never going to go in there just because they took over where Andy's Pet Shop used to be but I'm happy I decided to go in. Not only did I buy my bike there but I go there for services and additional items I need. P.S I never give reviews good or bad. This has been the second one I've ever done and both have been for this place. That's got to say something
