  Amazingly helpful and understanding. As a trans woman who is routinely discriminated against, I was so happy that I found a place that treated me amazingly well. So so happy.

  I highly recommend Karen for anyone who needs a wig. As soon as you step through her door, you are treated as an old friend and given the most professional and courteous treatment at a very affordable price. Being diagnosed with cancer, I knew I was going to lose my hair, and that gave me a tremendous amount of anxiety, on top of knowing the course of treatment that would follow. I had bought a wig from someone else at first. I was so uncomfortable with it; I looked in the mirror and I did not see myself. I looked unreal, and it was very obvious that I was wearing a wig. One day I was LUCKY to have found Karen's Wigs online. After talking to Peter, I felt that this place is somehow different from the rest so I made an appointment. My Mom went with me and later she told me that THAT was the first real smile she had seen on my face in so long. Karen was able to take my worries away by immediately showing me a hair piece that mimicked my own hair. To this day, only those I am closest with know that I am wearing a wig. My coworkers have no clue. My closest friends tell me it is exactly like my own hair, only healthier looking. Karen offers a variety of services to help maintain the wig in its original condition. I have been a customer for almost a year now. And my ordeal is almost behind me. My hair has also started to grow back. But I can truly say that Karen's Wigs was the bright spot in this horrible year. I will never forget the kindness and professionalism that Karen and Peter showed me. I recommend them to everyone i meet.

  Karen is lovely. She has an amazing eye for a face and she listens to what you are looking for. She asks you why you are looking for a wig so she can make the right suggestion for you, then she customizes it just for your face and head. She is well-versed in everything "wigs" and very sensitive to the emotional needs of her client. I'm sorry that another reviewer was put off by her direct manner -- she is direct but she needs to be in order to see what you need. She's also incredibly knowledgable, sensitive, and concerned about your satisfaction. When I walked in her door I was prepared to spend a fortune on the most expensive, human hair wig. Karen listened to why I needed a wig. Then she explained all the reasons why I should not be buying an expensive human hair wig and all the reasons why she believed that I would be more satisfied with a significantly less-expensive synthetic wig. She was 100% right! Instead of a few thousand dollars I spent a few hundred. I've been wearing my wig now for about a month and no one knows it's not my hair -- everything she sells is of the highest quality, and she customizes it for your face and your lifestyle. She literally gave my wig "a haircut" to customize it just for me. When I put it on and look in the mirror -- I see myself. Not myself in a wig, just me. Having to wear a wig is difficult emotionally so to be able to look in the mirror and just see "me" -- well, it just gave me peace of mind. I really believe that her goal is to make sure you walk out the door with the wig that you actually need (not what you think you need when you first walk in...). She wants you to come back to her if there is a need or a "next time" and I definitely would. I went back to purchase some wig care products and to have her show me again how to properly put the wig on and she could not be nicer or more sensitive. My experience with Karen has been terrific and I recommend her completely.
