  Traditional Chinese bakery, go early, the goodies sold out quickly. The bake goods keep the traditions, which are getting rare in NYC Chinatown, fresh and just right, try the classic big round walnut cookie, thousand years egg pastry if you are adventurous!

  Classic, old school Chinese bakery. It's looks dirty and janky but it offers some of the cheapest freshly baked goods around the neighborhood. Staffed by two ladies that doesn't speak English, but can understand a few basic English words. FYI, don't queue up on line expecting them to acknowledge you, this establishment employs the old school Chinese method of "calling out" your order. If you don't, others may "skip" you. As an ABC, this Method of getting my grub is a bit hard to employ, but the moment they make eye contact with you don't hesitate just call out your order. The ladies behind the counter will not acknowledge your order but they are preparing it for you. They offer very simple and classic baked goods, don't expect anything fancy. Their teas/coffee either come in small 8oz or large 12oz. When I need a quick breakfast, I come here! Large freshly brewed coffee and large sponge cake comes out to be $1.75 in 2016! Their famed sponge cake is so moist, and it has a lovely eggy taste.

  Cheapest coffee in town where almost everybody is at 90 cents and up. For close to a decade I been going to this hidden gem. Yeah it looks grimy from the outside and inside but it has the best buns and coffee you ever had. The ladies behind the counter will take no bs from you thou so know what you want.

  It brings back so many memories when I think about this bakery, especially since it’s one of the oldest bakeries standing in Chinatown. I grew up eating their sponge cakes and warm egg tarts as a child. I would constantly tell my grandfather to get them for me since it’s right below where he lived. This bakery is truly a mom and pop’s shop, since I’ve grown up to know the owners and their son. What fascinates me about this place is that their selection in bread and pastries are very limited, but by the end of each day, all their baked goods are gone. Yes, they are that good! You can hardly resist not going to this place, because the aroma from the baked goods warmly invites you to the store, and you can’t help but end up leaving the store with a bagful of deliciously baked goods. This is truly a unique place that everyone needs to try once in their lifetime.
