  Great, intimate Jazz spot in the heart of East Village. The musicians are excellent and get deep into their instruments. The place is not too loud like some other Jazz clubs; it's more of a spot to chat, eat, and drink with a heavy jazz background. Unless you are sitting at the bar, the white tablecloth laden table are meant for dinner or at least appetizers - and of course a drink or two. Make a reservation. Take a date or double date here.

  Very nice restaurant. I eat there during a jazz live which was amazing. The personal is very nice and the menu worth it. It is a great place!

  The four of us had a wonderful meal here in late April. Miraculously got a table immediately upon arriving without a reservation (stroke of luck not to be expected regularly). Service was good despite the room being at capacity. Food delicious and the jazz excellent. Will return on our next visit. Thank you!

  A super find in the E. Village. A classic NYC French Bistro at the top of its class: standard bistro fare done superbly. French-run, it has that unmatched commitment to simply making simple food superb that the French seem to be born with. All the starters and main dishes are very well -prepared (my girlfriend said the fruit pancakes were the best she's ever had) --- the service is quite excellent --- the fresh juices are among the best we've had (if they’re offering the Green Juice when you go, order it!) --- and the tiny street-front courtyard (with only four two-person tables) is magical in nice weather. Despite being on the street side, because it is a level below the street, it actually is quiet and feels private (by NYC standards - ha!)... and in the Spring, there are flowering fruit trees overhead. We are tough critics and I was going to walk on by... but my girlfriend's positive instincts paid off. We rate Jules Bistro as one of the top Traditional French Bistros in the City. Finally, as others have noted, there is usually great French bistro jazz vocals.

  Decent neighborhood French Bistro. Service was excellent, and made me feel so welcomed there. Gave an extra star for service. Live jazz is great (another star). Mixed cocktails are so-so. Probably beer and wine are better. Desserts are not so good. Spend the extra money on starters and skip the sweets. We did not try any of the mains.
