::About two years ago I bought a new car, it was my first. Everything was great until a year later when my A/C started blowing hot air. I took it to pepboys who charged a $70 fee just to do a diagnostic test. They discovered my compressor was shot and said it would cost $1200 for the part and maitenence. Being a college student, I could not afford this. I suffered with no A/C for the rest of that summer. Fast forward to this summer, I saved up the money and I was ready to fix my A/C. Before we went back to pepboys my dad googled some near by mechanics. Let me just say this, if something is wrong with your car, stop searching and go see these guys! Javier was so kind and patient, explaining everything twice to me and my father. He discovered it was not the compressor at all. It was just dirty and a valve needed to be tightened: ONLY $130!!!!! This man saved me over $1000 because he was honest and a great worker. It's better to support local business than companies that replace employees every few months. Thank you Javier, I will be telling everyone about this mechanic shop!

::As an FYI, while the automotive center is attached to the gas station, the service center is a separate entity and has nothing to do with the gas prices charged. After coming to Stony Brook Automotive for several "fixes" & maintenance to my three vehicles, I've found Bob Testa to be an honest, knowledgable, and fair. I highly recommend Bob for any car repair. I also have Bob do all my state inspections and I have found him to be quick and responsive. You can't go wrong going to Bob at Stony Brook Automotive for all of your car repair needs.
