::I called from the East Coast on the morning of Valentine's day, desperate to get a dozen red roses delivered in Portland that day. The person who answered couldn't have been more helpful. The price was reasonable considering the day and the quality of the flowers. I've copied and pasted from the e-mail that the receipient sent me that evening. "The roses are GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!" This from a lady whose profession makes her a most discerning critic of all things visual. What more can I add? Highly recommended.

::They currently use a non biodegradable material in their vases to hold the flowers. It looks like a shredded styrofoam and it flys everywhere when you try to dispose of the flowers after they are done. I called them about it because I am concerned about birds and animals ingesting this kind of material and didn't know what it was or how to safely dispose of it. Frankly it kind of took the joy out of receiving the flowers as it was a mess to clean up and unhealthy for the environment. They said they were looking into alternatives when I called them about it. If you use them and care about this sort of thing perhaps you could tell them that you don't want this kind of material in your gift.
