The location of the hotel is perfect! Balboa Park and all its beauty/activities is just across the street. We spent every morning of our stay running in the park, and one afternoon visiting the museums/gardens. The neighborhood itself is great too. Good restaurants within walking distance. Downtown, a short ride away. The hotel itself is clean and up to date. The rooftop is nice, but otherwise the hotel lacks amenities. The elevator is very slow. We had a corner room on the second floor and the street noise in the room was the worst I've ever experienced at a hotel. I guess that is a product of the thin walls and single pane windows of an early 20th century hotel. Overall, I would stay again. But would request a room away from the ends of the building.

Excellent atmosphere. Very attentive staff and great location across the street from Balboa Park. Room is spacious and inviting. This is our second stay and it keeps getting better and better. The location also offers short trips to fine dining and shopping. Gotta stop now to eat another wonderful meal.

Nice place, but you have to either pay $20 every night for the valet, or park in the street. Unless, you have a handicap plaque or sticker, then it's free. This place used to be apartments and only has 1 elevator for 7 floors. The conversion from apartments to hotel rooms is pretty well done but the bathroom and kitchen was pretty small.... The 7th floor has a nice balcony and it includes a business center, sales floor and a small workout room. The concierge there is amazing at finding you things to do! If this is your first visit, I would highly recommend the concierge services.

This timeshare is always booked to capacity...I gave it one star because of the fabulous staff. It is in disparate need of a renovation and though I realize it's an historic building, I was disappointed. The view is awesome, especially at night. However, this place is in a known homeless area, so beware!! The room had an odor that didn't fade away even with the windows open. Bedding (duvet and sheets) had noticeable stains on them which creeped me out. I called downstairs for clean linen and housekeeping scrambled to find some. I won't be going back to this place even though it is rich with history. Shame on you Wyndham Resorts. :( The unit comes with a fully equipped kitchen.

Great place to stay. Just know it's a timeshare hotel. We used our timeshare points to stay...will be back. It's a 1925 refurbished hotel with full kitchens. They tried to keep the original 1925 feel and architecture with some modern updates. The beds are extremely comfortable! You will have to pay for parking unless you want to leave your car on the city street overnight. We didn't! They no longer have the historical Inn at the Park restaurant, so you'll have to leave the hotel for meals if you don't wish to cook in your unit. There are plenty of eating establishments within walking distance. There is also rooftop terrace where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the city, Balboa Park and the bay.
