I am not even sure where to begin. I walked in to this salon to make a consultation appointment to get my hair colored. I donā€™t often have time to with my canā€™t talk with client schedule but I had heard pretty good things about this place. So I approach the front desk and the first bad encounter I had was with one of their receptionist. She seemed to be talking for what I think was one of their assistants because her hair was in a bun clipped up messily like she had just come from the gym. Already extremely unprofessional. Once I was able to get the receptionist to help me she immediately responds in a flat ā€œcan I help youā€ as if I was bothering her. I politely told her what I need it and once I was done talking, she looks down on her phone then back at me and said ā€œuh ok let me see if someone can help youā€. Then as she walked away (texting may I add) I waited for almost 20 minutes for someone to get me. No one offered me a drink or anything while I was waiting but as soon as some pretty girl with a fancy bag walks in they automatically perked up and weighted on her hand and foot. Then finally they send someone. Just my luck itā€™s the girl with the ratty hair from before. She sits me down in a chair and says ā€œone secā€. Still no introduction. As Iā€™m waiting again to be helped I hear her loud and clear telling a story about how someone filmed her on the beach having sex with a man. Iā€™m not sure what is appropriate topics to talk about at a salon. But if any of the nurses I work with would be caught talking about such vulgar subjects near patients they would be let go. Anyway, a stylist finally approaches me and introduces herself as Kelly. She seemed very friendly and helpful until she walked into a semi open room next to where I was sitting and I over heard her talking about how she didnā€™t feel like doing my hair but that she was going to over charge me to compensate for the hassle. At that point I had made up my mind about this place and decided to let them know I decided to go in a different direction. Once I left I tried calling them to talk to the owner or manager. Apparently neither of them were there. So I asked for either of their direct email addresses but they said to look it up online. Iā€™m sorry but what kind of customer service is this? Want my honest opinion? If you want to go to a place that appears to be nice but is actually ran by children and pretentious stylists then this is the place to go. I have never been treated this way at a salon. Itā€™s almost as if you donā€™t look like you have money, they donā€™t want you there. So as I finish this novel of a review, if what Iā€™ve said isnā€™t enough to convince you to take your money else weā€™re... apparently the owners nephew and his significant other both have left the salon to work for one of immortalā€™s competitors. After hearing that, it was clear to me that this place was made to be aesthetically pleasing to attract clients but other than that, their employees seem to feel entitled to treat new clients like they donā€™t matter because of their so called status. Word of advice to immortal beloved: it is 2018 and there is a plethora of places with the same, if not better aesthetic as yours with better prices, incredible talented stylists with kinder and better attitudes. Soon enough your salon will become as irrelevant as bubbles salons are. But hey, congrats on getting one of the obama girls a few years ago... which the stylist that did her hair left. Oh and getting a porn star to get her hair done there as well.. or did you pay her to come in so you can appear more relevant when in reality many people have noticed that the quality of stylists and employees you have recruited are subpar. I hope this review warns many people considering going there and save themselves from having to deal with the trash that works there. Oh and just to clarify, I only call them trash because that is how they treated me. Itā€™s called projection. Look it up and you will all see what I mean. Donā€™t let their fancy photographer fool you. Itā€™s all an illusion.

This salon should host its own makeover show. I always feel like a million bucks coming out, regardless of who I see while I am there. It can be a bit pricey (depending on the level of stylist/colorist), but it is worth every dollar!

Beautiful space. The stylists are hit or miss. Some are amazing. Some can't even cut my bangs in a straight line.

Love love love this salon. Masha is extremely talented and has so much experience. I love getting my haircut by her - she is always trying new things while still listening to your ideas too. Can't recommend enough!!

THE place to get your hair cut! I recently moved to DC and was in need of a good salon. Immortal Beloved was recommended to me by a handful of friends so I gave it a try and I could not be more satisfied. The salon is beautiful and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Masha is the best! She knew exactly what I wanted and made it happen. I can whole heartedly say this was the best hair cut I have had. Will continue to come to this salon for as long as I live in DC.
