::The view of downtown Austin over the water is great. I forget the name of the restaurant in the atrium, but if you have time to grab a bite, the meat and cheese platter is excellent. Happy hour was decent. The staff was great all around. Clean and updated rooms. Enjoyed my stay.

::This is a fantastic Hyatt. I've stayed here a handful of times, even though I live locally. This location is a hot spot for conventions and for good reason. It's beautiful and there's lots to do near by, but this Hyatt has everything you could want available without ever leaving. My only complaint is that the rooms are not sound proof. For all the nights I've stayed here, it's impossible to get any sleep. It doesn't matter what floor you're on, you can hear the ground floor bar and restaurants in the rooms. Even after their major renovations, the noise levels didn't improve. I will still stay here the next time they're hosting an irresistible conference, but maybe I'll bring ear plugs next time.

::After going on a river cruise which docked right behind the Hyatt, we stopped for a meal and drinks. They have a small indoor bar and a large patio outside. The night was warm, but it was dark and breezy. There were eight of us around a table. First, we ordered drinks. The server was very nice, talkative and friendly. She was attentive and responsive. Then we ordered food. Some had appetizers, others ordered meals. I ordered my traditional burger, but this time with sweet potato fries. When they arrived, I will start by saying the fries were good. Unfortunately, I have a food allergy that absolutely sucks - I cannot have milk or milk products. So, I am always very careful to order so the wait staff knows. I told the waitress who told me their normal bun had milk in it and offered a substitution. That was great. When the meal arrived I started to enjoy my food until a few bites in when I realized there was cheese on the burger. When the waitress came by, I told her. Of course, as normally happens, she blamed the kitchen. She offered to call security or an ambulance but I know when it is serious and it did not seem to be so I declined, but asked them to replace the burger. In a very short time, the manager came by and brought the replacement. He was kind but did not apologize. He did comp the burger. (If he did not, I would have really make a scene.) But, when something serious like that happens, I would expect more. A simple apology would have done nicely. Other than that big mistake, the rest was good. I would have given them four stars but only two for the service.

::We had a conference at this location and the service was exceptional. The location is walking distance to local attractions, restaurants, so it was a good location. Enjoy Austin, music and BBQ. The city has plenty to offer and the hotel just made it easier to work and still had a little time to play. Do a little research ahead of time to make the best of it. I wish I had more time to spend, would like to go back to this location again!

::The Hyatt is an Austin original. Great restaurant and bar and walking distance to almost everything Austin. Whether it's shopping at the Yeti store or watching the Congress Avenue bridge bats. Not to mention thread girls world headquarters restaurant is just across the way. The Hyatt also offers a great parking venue, in their garage, Another place with a great view, from the top floor.
