This is to warn anyone looking for a bank or an auto loan. You would be best served to NOT consider doing business with Huntington National Bank - located in Columbus Ohio. They may sound nice and professional when you speak to them, but that is where it all ends ... just talk and absolutely no common sense or follow through. Let me explain: My wife has a private auto loan through them that was set up by our Toyota dealer. The ONLY reason they were among the possible banks to deal with was because their rates were among the lowest. We had other choices, but went with alphabetical order - H was first on the list. This was a terrible mistake. I thought all banks today were up to date on their technology. I have now learned that this is absolutely NOT TRUE in the case of Huntington National Bank. You cannot set up automated payments for an auto loan online. You need to request a form, sign it and send it in. This may be the same process with other banks, so this is not the problem. I have called 4 times and spoken to 4 different people; this last time I spoke with a supervisor. The previous 3 times, the rep assured me that a form was sent via email, regular postal mail, and Fax. In each case, nothing ever showed up - for 4 months! This last time, I spoke with a supervisor. He wanted to help, but he could not send me a blank form because of a company policy against potential fraud. I applaud businesses protecting against fraud, but I was requesting a blank form with no account details. It was only a blank form with absolutely no customer info. In order for him to send me the form, I had to have my wife talk to them and approve them sending a BLANK form. Common sense tells all of us that it is not possible for anyone to commit fraud with a blank form; especially one that only allow someone to SEND the bank money. This is a form that does NOT TAKE money, but SENDS the bank money. What kind of moron would commit fraud in order to SEND money to a bank?! The supervisor was hard-lined NOT to send a blank form on my say-so. He would only send a form, fax, or email if my wife got on the phone and said "It's OK". Me (her husband) could not request a BLANK form and could not convince a supervisor to send a BLANK form either. So, 3 calls to set up automated PAYMENTS to Huntington National Bank failed to get any promised action. Those first 3 calls all had promises by Huntington Bank reps stating that the fax was sent, email was sent, and postal mail was sent. The 4th call to a supervisor was a failure for the bank to recognize simple logic. There wasn't even a whisper of customer service spoken by the supervisor; no empathy, no common courtesy, nothing! WARNING - Don't believe any people you speak to at Huntington National Bank of Columbus. They sound nice, but produce no value for customers. Bottom line - they have poor systems, and DON'T CARE!

24-hr Grace is a joke!!! What's the point if it's "at the Banks discretion?" Especially when a customer has thousands of dollars in deposits each month and deposits every week. AND why are consumers charged nsf fees simply because an attempt was made, yet the Bank did not clear the transaction? If Congress wasn't in the pockets of these Bank's, this mess would not be allowed!
