::I opened an account for my infant son and they screwed up just about everything they could. First, they told me it would take 1-2 days to open the account. It took almost 3 weeks. After all this money laundering news, they dragged me through some arcane vetting process (I already have 4 other accounts with them and have been with HSBC since they took over Marine Midland bank way back when). They also told me I would be able to administer the account via my online account, which turned out not to be true. So I have to physically go to the bank and deposit funds everytime. It was almost enough to make me take all my accounts and go somewhere else. I thought about it pretty hard. I will stay with them for now, but I'm keeping my eyes open to see if other banks seem better. It just seemed careless and the employees seemed totally unaware of the bank's policies and rules. No one ever contacted me to update me on what was going on and I wasted a lot of time following up with them via email & phone.
