  Locale: New York Ave NE. stay was fine. No room service available. Rates were good.

  Close to downtown, but there is no way for a pedestrian to cross New York Ave without walking at least a half mile. Proximity to Union Market would be a big plus if this were not the case. The room was mostly clean but falling apart (hairdryer did not work, bathroom door did not close, front door didn't seal properly despite the brand new locks). Cheap and you get what you pay for.

  Great place but you have to paid for the pool not include with you staying $5 not bad

  My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights for the March For Our Lives rally. The cleanliness was like a 3 out of 5, the TV reception wasn't terrific, and it was a smoking room without an ashtray! Those were my main complaints which in my opinion are not huge problems. To elaborate on my cleanliness issue, it wasnt like the bed itself felt dirty or anything that awful. The wallpaper was peeling in some spots; the carpeting had the wear and tear you would expect from the floor of a hotel room that hasnt been changed in several years; the bathroom was fine despite the vent looking a little icky; and I think the filters in the AC unit needed to be changed because I got a little congested when it would run at night (Allergies, woo!). Other than that, the toilet made a moaning-cow-dying noise when it flushed which was more funny than anything. For what we needed this room for, I was satisfied and have nothing major to complain about. Anyone who is super high maintenance and needs everything to be perfect, I would probably steer away from hojo's in general 'cause you ain't finding no 5 star cleanliness. We really only used the room to sleep in and spent the daytime out and about, so for that it was great. The location was also really great for getting around quickly, but we also had our car with us so I cant speak to the access to public transit, although my boyfriend said there was a nearby Metro station. I think if you're visiting a city and you want to get out and see it all, why spend a ton of money on some glamorous room when most of your time in that room will be spent sleeping?

  I had booked a room here a few weeks in advance before my trip to DC. My boyfriend and I had taken a bus ride from New York City to union station In dc then from there we took an uber to the hotel and arrived at around 2 in the morning. Only to discover that although we had already booked a room online with the hotel we were never told the age limit to book a room was 21 , we are both 20 and going to be 21 within a few months. The gentleman in the front desk told us that there was no way he can help us the only thing he would be able to do is give us free cancellation of the room we had booked. We spent the next hour trying to find a last minute room in a hotel that was 30 minutes away. Don’t recommend this place at all.
