  Had dinner at the crowd nest. Food was good, but I was a bit disappointed that there were so many seafood/fish dining options and not a lot of other items on the menu. I ended up ordering the halibut. Fish was great but everything else on the plate was more for eye appeal than eating.

  I won’t be staying at Captain Cook anymore. Just because we’re native they look at us differently. My husband went out to smoke, the guys at the door ask to see his key, he showed it to them. They asked him more questions, asked what room he was in and he went to the front desk with them and his name was on our room number. He asked for their names and they refused to give their names to him. Even he had his key, ID and confirmed with the front desk that he’s a guest there, they had to escort him to our room and see if his key would work 😡😡 They’re just racist. I’m so irritated with them. I would move my hotel but am here for work.

  Hotel Captain Cook has got to be the NICEST hotel in anchorage! They have an awesome classic look of a new york hotel while remaining classic Alaskan. I perform at the comedy nights in the whales tail bar and it is really great. Everyone is really friendly (especially the doorman).

  It is a very Grand hotel with amazing views and is centrally located in the downtown area close to shops, museums, and restaurants. There are many gift shops that stay open late. The rooms are clean, large and nice. Housekeeping does an excellent job. The valet service for cars is excellent and the concierge and front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I don't like that the men's and women's gyms are so different. I also wish they were open 24 hours so you could enjoy the pool, sauna, and gym after dinner without feeling rushed. If you need a quick breakfast, go to the Cubby. The main restaurant is extremely slow and room service is not any faster. I was told room service would take 30 minutes, but it took an hour. Fortunately they gave me a discount, because I almost didn't have time to eat it before I checked out. Laundry service was excellent, but expensive as you would expect.

  Staff at the hotel were all amazing and friendly. We worked with Brian at the front desk multiple times through the trip and he was amazing! He was so helpful in us planning activities around town and assisted with any questions or concerns that we have. The hotel accommodations are wonderful and the restaurants are top notch. Loved this hotel and we will definitely stay here when we come back to Anchorage.
