This is tough to write. Having stayed a number of times in other Home2Suites, and traveling with our Boston Terriers, we thought we knew what to expect. Arrival was good, check in was as expected, went out for a spectacular dinner (see separate review from me dated today for Marsh House!), and then we come back to the hotel for possibly one of the worst nights we have had in any hotel. Fire alarm went off at 1:55am. Scared us and the dogs, we evacuated the room (as did other guests), and while we were outside here comes a single fire truck(?). After a few minutes, it was declared a false alarm (we thought maybe some college kids) and we were allowed back in. Elevators were still shut down and had not bee reset, so up four flights of stairs with our dogs (rescues), one of whom has breathing problems and is naturally skiddish. 20 minutes later, another alarm! Once again, we get out of the room. This time no fire truck, but another false alarm. While we are outside, they shut the alarm down - then it goes off again! This time the fire truck came back. Once again a false alarm. Then we find out from another guest that this happened two months before. And from another guest that it happened the day before. The alarm is a systems problem and it went off 8 times between 2am and 5 am this morning. Our dogs were traumatized and could not sleep they were so scared. No manager on site. General manager was called and didn't come in. Front desk staff (after all the alarms) went outside for a smoke (no pun intended) break and left the phones unanswered. Police never came. Fire department never came back. We then checked and found out we were over-charged $110 per night from the posted rates! Complaints to the day manager this morning resulted in a promise of a full refund, but nothing is posted to our account yet. We certainly understand a systems problem causing this, but 8 times during one night? And it was very poorly handled by local management given that it has happened before. Please stay somewhere else!!

It seems like they were trying to do too much in one room. The kitchenette (complete with dish washer) is a nice touch. It seems to me they could have done more with the quality of the room vs the quantity of amenities. The shower handles were loose, This could cause a possible fall hazard. The wash cloth on the sink was stained brownish beige. A dish washer with no dishwashing detergent. I know some people prefer a firm bed, and if so this is a room for you! But, only if you like the softest fluffy pillow in existence to balance things out. I was impressed with the towels, they reminded me of linens off of the clothes line. Though, if guests are expecting fluffy soft towels they may be disappointed. I know you can't please everyone. These are just a few observations I had during my stay. I hope it helps :)

I'm at a Hilton Home 2 right now and I'm pretty disappointed. The room itself is nice, the beds...nice...good location.... however, the pullout....awful. The blanket they left is like textured cardboard and I'd rather sleep on the floor than this awful mattress. The blankets on the other beds are pretty garage too. It hurts to even sit on this thing. I don't care that it's s pullout couch, but you are "Home 2." I drove 16 hours on an uncomfortable bus and now I have to sleep on an uncomfortable bed? Another thing... The water takes forever to get even luke warm. Time to upgrade your hotel rooms I think.

The location is great & they have a shuttle that takes you 3 miles from the hotel for free. The rooms are clean and well stocked. But the 5 stars are for the service. Hands down the friendliest and most professional staff we have had in a hotel.

I have been staying at this hotel for business and pleasure over the last 5 years and, they never disappoint me. Great location in midtown, near all the sites in the city but, away from the "tourist trap". Great for business as well. Plenty of good places to eat and drink that are within walking distance of the hotel. The staff is very accommodating as well, I had to cancel my most recent stay on the day of my check-in, due to weather, I already checked in online and, called after hours. There was nothing the front desk employee named, Ryan could do at the moment. When I called the next day to speak with management, he told me that my stay had been cancelled and that my card had already been refunded. It turns out that Ryan had left a note for the manager asking them to cancel my reservation and refund my stay. I would say I was pleasantly surprised however, this has been the level of service that I have come to expect from this property over the last 5 years. Every time I go to Nashville, I stay at the Home 2 Suites by Vanderbilt.
