The quality of the hotel is good. However the layout is really strange and it takes forever to get to your room. The fitness center is small (It looks like it was where a hot tub used to be, no hot tub any more). The pool seemed nice, it was warm and clean, but not particularly fancy or big. They charge $55-65 PER DAY for parking on top of your room fee. Do not be deceived by the low room prices, you will pay on top of this. This should have been disclosed earlier. The Dennys in the hotel is not worth going to, very expensive ($13-20 per plate).

Reserved week before arrival. Please note the following before confirming your reservation. 1) If you bring your car, you will be charged 60$/day for the privilege of parking at the hotel. And of course this is not mentioned in the web site. 2) The added taxes and miscellaneous fee (other than the parking fee) amounts to about 25% of the quoted room rate. I think, they should be up front about these charges in the website, and give you the total cost. So, by the time all the fees are considered in the added cost is over hundred dollars over. Room, itself was small but OK, the first floor can be noisy with revelers in the late night. Maybe the policy of San Francisco is to discourage driving into the city, then they should have clearly indicated as such. One of reason driving into the city was the high price for three day pass for bus is about 27$/person, and if you want to ride the streetcar is 7$/person a ride (even bus ride is 7$ a ride/person). Coming from Chicago where public transportation is in couple of dollars, the cost seems outrageous. So, basically, they will charge you for every possible thing under the sun. One more fun fact is that, if you buy ice cream there is heath tax of about 4% (I recall) added on to the regular tax. I guess they need extra tax t maintain the sanctuary city. I would probably sleep elsewhere next time if I go back (probably near air port or in the suburbs).

It's a great value for the price and prime location. We were in building one, which as I understand, has been updated more recently. But it's a great location. Easily walkable to Ghirardelli Square, Lombard Street, Pier 39, and other attractions. The room was nice and clean. And the staff we interacted with were all great.

It was actually an okay stay, if you wanted your legs to take a bath while showering because the bath tub filled with water and did not drain until 5 minutes after you were done showering. But everything else was okay, until you wanted to turn on the TV with out getting out of bed...the remote batteries in the remote was dead. But it was an okay stay. The server, Lorena, at breakfast made our meal excellent. Nice and polite. She made the stay worth it.

The only thing this hotel has going for it was the location. We checked in and we were in their “second building.” So we had to walk outside and around the corner to get to our hotel room (which personally I was not fond of at all because we came back around 11:45 one night). We did not know that there was going to be a $57 PER DAY parking fee. The fee was not disclosed ahead of time. Customer service was decent and brought us more towels when we asked for some although we found garbage on the floor that was not entirely cleaned up from the previous guests. There is no water fountain anywhere and we were told the tap water was safe to drink. I went to use their vending machine and every selection I wanted was sold out. We’re supposed to be on vacation not running into frustrations. I guess stay if you have no other choices. The location is great, but the headaches aren’t worth it.
