My parents came to visit and they stayed at this hotel, which turned out to be a sub-par experience. To begin, the restaurant in the lobby is very bad. It took forever for anyone to acknowledge us and we waited over 45 minutes for our food (we were the only people there!). When the food finally arrived, the chicken tasted so bad that no one ate it for fear of food poisoning. Two people at our table order iced teas at $6 each (steep price), but here’s the weirdest part. The restaurant charges you for refills DURING A MEAL. How screwed up is that? So, in essence, we paid for an inedible chicken sandwich and $24 worth of iced teas. We mentioned it to the server who didn’t seem to care. So, then we mentioned it politely to the manager, who by the way should iron his pants and comb his hair and maybe shave his 5 o’clock shadow, but the manager’s response was “well, this is a nice hotel.” HAHAHAHAHAHA! Nice hotel? Give me a break! I do not recommend to anyone visiting the area and I strongly encourage Hilton Corporate to fire the management of this “nice” hotel. I also want to add that I’m certain the 5-star reviews on this Google page with no explanation are fake. So, if you really want to get an honest take on this hotel, visit their Yelp page.

We spent the Easter weekend here and it’s a decent high end hotel. Everyone gets free breakfast and filtered water. Rooms are modern, not big yet cozy. The surrounding is the up and coming neighborhood ‘District Wharf’ and so plenty to do in short walking distance. On top of that there are seafood markets in 10 min walk and we love them. So why not 5 stars: I am a Hilton diamond member but I get no benefit from my status. Perhaps I should not expect any perks but then why not. Loyalty should count for something. Marriott has executive lounge! I can only conclude business travelers are not their key customers.

The hotel itself is nice, new and clean. The location is great and our room had a great view of the river - but we will probably find another place to stay next time. The AC unit in the room was so loud and ran almost constantly. The switches between on and off was so loud and disruptive. The included breakfast was pretty weak. There wasn't enough food or seating for everyone so we were left hungry after both mornings we tried to eat at the hotel.

Amazing hotel and room overlooking the front park and view of the Potomac River. The immediate area of The Wharf has everything you need for drug store needs, coffee, ice cream, quick food, and nice dinners. Plus a couple of live music venues down the street. The breakfast has a great variety of choices. Reminded me of the self-serve breakfasts offered at European hotels on business travel. About a 20+ minute walk to The Mall and the museums. Beyond that, you probably need to use a taxi or the metro from L'enfant Plaza. There is a free shuttle bus that loops between The Wharf and Independence Ave. If you are an outdoorsy exerciser, this would be the place to stay. Jog / walk along the wharf over to Potomac Park and looks like you can rent kayaks in warmer weather right at The Wharf. At the end of The Wharf, is a seafood market with about a dozen vendors. Many have steamed crabs ready to go. Grab a dozen and chill by the wharf in warmer weather while cracking some crabs! Very highly recommend if you don't need to b be more in the center of town on your visit.
