I have stayed in Hampton/Hilton most of my life. I love these hotels. The rooms are always nice, staff is always nice. But that changed when I got to this hotel. I came on a week get away with my wife; we were in LA for the past 5 days and then came down here for the next 5 days. Of course I expected the price to be more here... (Which it was by 300 dollars total) but what I did not expect, was to pay another $100 in parking. So I now just spent $1000 to stay here.. And another $100 to just park my car. Of course the parking fee is in fine print so that you have no idea there is a fee until you get here; and then you have to decide if its more cost effective to pay the parking fee or the room cancellation fee. Currently not very happy with this Hampton location. I have never had to pay for parking at any other Hampton I've ever stayed at. If you have the ability to book a room somewhere else. Do it! I would have!

Nice Hampton away from the busy-ness of downtown SD. This one is close to old downtown SD. There are a bunch of walking shops about 3 miles away, also Mexican restaurants. The ladies at the front desk treated us well when we checked in. The gym here is a common Hampton gym. Treadmills, elliptical, bikes, dumbbells and a cable machine. Pool and hot tub. There's also a nice sitting area to smoke, if you do that. Enjoy

The breakfast was good, coffee great and right off the freeway. Close to restaurant's and Old Town. We took the Trolley tour that I recommend because it takes you everywhere. You can get off walk around and get back on. Or take the tour and go back to see what you want. Have another reservation for my birthday in May! Going to hit the beach this time.

This place makes me want to hurry up and get back to San Diego. Everything here was amazing, from the hotel staff to the amenities. I thought there was going to be a problem with the parking fees due to the fact that the site I booked with never mentioned that there were overnight parking fees but the staff was very attentive to this and removed those fees for me. The morning breakfast buffet was ENORMOUS and the staff were always so pleasant and helpful. Even the coffee cups were fun with little mustaches on them. The pool was very nice and modern with great seating areas around the pool and spa. The rooms were big and the beds were very soft! Thank you Hampton for making this a wonderful trip...but maybe get rid of those parking fees.

What should I say, it's a Hampton Inn with a sort of a modern Decor. There's a nice fire pit out back and the pool which looks really rather nice. Please be aware that there's a $21 a night parking fee for self parking here which is rather unusual for a Hampton Inn. Also, for some strange reason, they don't serve pastries in the morning like every single other Hampton on the planet. When asked, no one had an answer... I don't think people in California do so well at thinking for themselves, what with all the rules and the rules and the rules. Rules are very easy to hide behind. They also don't encourage people to grow into true adults. Someone call Governor Moonbeam. It needs to be a study, and a commission and then another study, and then somebody's going to draft a bill....IMHO. Participation Trophies for all!
