The Haggerty Art Museum is great. It's a small museum, but it is free to all. I enjoyed my visit. They change art exhibits every few months.

"Lee Young Jun PEN ART" Pen Art(General Remarks) Infinity of lines and dots have symbolism. ย Such symbolism is ever changing according to the spiritโ€™s depth. ย All works are kaleidoscopic; they are usually composed of indescribable expressions. ย Therefore, artโ€™s depth also can be said to be unlimited. ย Is pen artโ€™s depth also infinite? ย In other words, do the lines and dots flowing from the nib of a pen have an artistic qualification? ย In this respect, it is worth thinking deeply. ย Pen art begins from an essence of natureโ€™s fundamental values. ย From the standpoint of value, or color, a harmony of black and white is essential in nature. ย As it is impossible to see any color in darkness, distinguishing color is an essential role of light. ย That is why the soul is drawn to light. ย Whiteness, or light is a spiritual reflection of the soul while blackness, or darkness is a reality of life on earth. ย As the color green is an essential color of vegetation, burnt charcoal is an earthy color that will stay near black. ย Blackness is heterogeneous and may be hostile to life. ย If blackness belongs to the essence of nature, it also may be said to represent the image of death. ย A combination of black and white constitutes degrees of lightness and darkness. ย When painting black on a white background, the soul is transported to the white background. ย Whiteness comes to life when contrasted with black line and black space. ย In this case, soul also may be expressed through the blackness. ย Soul may be transported to the black or a combination of white and black, which shed a mysterious merit to the soul or spirit. ย Pen arts starts and ends from an essence of natureโ€™s fundamental contrasts. ย The primary essence is infinite and eternal while the artistic harmony of black and white can take oneโ€™s breath away. ย But, this is not possible until a metamorphosis has been realized over many years and spiritual transcendence has occurred. ย The transfer of spirit ย occurs when oneโ€™s life experiences are projected onto the white canvas in harmony with blackness. ย That is the true โ€˜pen art.โ€™ ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Artist Lee Young Jun I am a Korean. I pioneered the " Lee Young Jun Pen Art " and Perfected the genre. I am Artist Lee Young Jun. Pen Art is the only genre is an important work In the world. The works are extremely valuable. A spectacular museum of art. I found the staff to be engaging and the work of the artists both insightful and inspiring. I visited on the Friday of July 22nd of 2016, the first of five months in which the Antioch, Il (AI) Artificial Intelligence conference is going on with the acronym of (JASON) the healer as our host. And here at the Haggerty Museum of art one piece of several extraordinary works stood out in particular to mention. That "being" the ~Magnificent Obsession~, 2016 Artificial Plants encased in glass by Ben Balcom. To me Magnificent Obsession represented the embodiment of the Human Ratio Conservancy (TM) foundation that I began this month because of how I interpreted this elongated cube of silhouetted ferns upon a pedestal near the south wall. Think of a flowering plant of 'chalk light' growing within the garden of the (X,Y,Z) axis's of the matrix. "Chalk light" by which the calcium of both chalk and bones manifested an artificial 'being'. Now we all agree that art is in the eye of the beholder and this beholder is specifically saying that upon the macula of my eye a superimposable on its mirror image ; ACHIRAL >(VI)

Disappointed that I made the trip over. It was free, which is lovely, but didn't have much of a collection. Had an emphasis on modern art, but even this felt like a stretch (the main space was dedicated to a paper boat which looked like it belonged more so on the set of an elementary school play). The two exceptions were a rather interesting piece by Dali, "Madonna at Port Lligat" and a Warhol print.
