  Hands down the best barber shop I've been to in NYC. Very classy interior, friendly and experienced barbers, and the music's pretty great too. They have old-school chairs! A real treat.

  One of the best recommendations I've ever received was to go get a my hair cut by Michael Haar. Seven years later, I hope that I've found a barber for life. I was so excited to see his hard work pay off with the opening of his own shop in the West Village. He's kind and personable and at the same time has the focus and precision that you'd hope for in a surgeon or airplane pilot. I cannot recommend him and his shop highly enough. I know that a barber of his caliber attracts the type of talent that you can feel confident that you're in good hands with anyone in his shop.

  I’ve been getting my hair cut with Mike for over 5 years, and he’s far and away the best barber in town. His attention to detail was always unrivaled, and, now that he has his own shop, you can really see the extent that his pursuit of perfection applies to everything he does. From the place’s interior design, to the carefully chosen towel fragrance, to his choice in barbers, Mike Haar has really taken his talents to the next level. While I no longer live in New York, I always stop by Mike’s when I’m in town. If you’re in the need of a haircut (and even if you aren’t) this place is not to be missed.

  Michael Haar is without a doubt the best barber in NYC. He's finally opened his flagship shop in the heart of the west village and it's worth the trip to get your hair cut by the best in the biz. A maestro with the scissors, Haar can handle even the most problematic hair with ease. The shop itself is a throwback ode to the old school but done with true integrity and charm. Do yourself a favor and get this guy to cut your hair. You will not be sorry!

  Welcome to the best barber shop in NYC! Michael has been my barber for 4 years -- I wont let anyone else touch my hair. Cutting hair and shaving come naturally to him....He listens and works with acute focus. His passion is clear....From his work to his spotless and cozy shop. I highly recommend trying the works at least once -- its a truly relaxing experience. So, the next time you need a trim, go see Michael!
