  As a green building contractor I've found the staff here super knowledgeable about the eco-products they sell and great to work with. If you want cheap products that are toxic and don't last go to Home Depot. But from Safecoat paint and Osmo stain to insulation, Green Depo has been a huge help for my work.

  I find the staff usually courteous and quite helpful. As a contractor, they have been extremely helpful with getting the materials I need, keeping track of orders, etc. They are on top of it.

  If you are a fan of getting eye rolls and deep sighs while asking thoughtful questions then this is the place for you. The staff is alarmingly uninformed of stock items and completely uninterested in customer service. Instead of supporting a local business I ended up on Amazon. Sigh...

  We were looking for some osmo finish to use in our new redwood live edge table. After finding a list of dealers on osmo's website, I looked up all the ones dealers in the Portland area. Initially I planned on going elsewhere due to the Google reviews for Green Depot. However, I ended up wanting to buy the finish on a Sunday, and others were closed so we headed to Green Depot anyway. Our experience was really great. There is a large parking lot for customers in a busy area. We were greeted and helped right away. They had lots of osmo finishes in stock. The clerk talked with us about how to use the finish and gave us a printout with instructions. It was fast and easy to pay. It looks like they have a large selection of flooring, low voc paint, and some good sale items as well. I'll be sure to visit again in the future when doing another project.

  First off, let me say that the products here are very good. However, due to some of the worst customer service I've ever encountered, we are going to look for these quality products from a different vendor. I don't know the sales rep's name, but she's always there at the register, and she's SLOW. Not only slow, but really not a nice person and probably shouldn't be anywhere near customers. For example, a few months ago we came in to return an unused product. It took this woman literally ten minutes to process the ~$30 return, while the line piled up behind us. This Tuesday, which was the second time we returned product (and yes, we thought long and hard about even bothering after the first experience), the same woman was at the register. She didn't bother looking at our receipt to see when we had purchased it, instead just demanding to know when we'd bought it and then just staring at us. We told her it had been about two months. Then--get this--she WAGGED HER FINGER AT US and said "Oh no you don't, we have a strict 30-day return policy." Okay. I can deal with a 30-day policy, even if it isn't printed on the receipt. But, as anyone who has dealt with customers or who has been a customer can tell you, it's all in how you say it. This woman, and I really wish I could remember her name (she was working on the afternoon/evening of Tuesday, December 18, 2012) should be taken off the sales team before she drives this place into the ground.
