  I'm sorry to hear JC had such a strange bad experience. I don't know any of the details other than what this person wrote, but I, like most of the audio world, have experienced them as polite, personally attentive, generous with advice without sales pressure, usage tips, and of course, they make some of the most satisfying audio devices in the world at every price point. JC had a very unusual experience based on my, and most customers', history with this multi-generational, down to earth but technologically and musically visionary family business.

  I love my grado cans to death. (started with sr80s, then 125s, now 225s). The grado factory is near me, so I walked there one day. It was a little confusing, as I guess they don't really receive visitors there (I was hoping for a little shopfront or something, but all i saw was kind of a dingy workshop and messy office behind the big steel door -- it's not open to the public). So, don't make a pilgrimage there hoping for tee shirts or whatever :)

  I am 74 years old and somethings are harder to hear. I love music, all types, all eras, and most performers. From the 40's to today. Two or three years purchased SR80 headphones and it was like hearing music for the first time. Thank you for your professionalism and knowing what people want. I am now hearing what the performers wanted me to hear.

  Great American-made product. BUT, I had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. I bought their headphone amp along with the GH1 special edition headphones. The headphone amp arrived broken. They had me send it back to them. Then, they returned it to me even more broken. It took them a quarter of a year to get me a working unit. For some reason, even though I kept telling them that I had bought the unit new and it came broken (and they acknowledged that fact), they kept trying to repair it rather than give me a brand new working unit. Finally, they relented after the retailer intervened and contacted the owner Mr. Grado himself. I hope he fixes this operationally so it doesn't happen to other customers because it was shameful. They never ever offered me any kind of discount or anything either.
