::I went to Golden Goddess for the first time to treat myself to a loc grooming (palm roll) for my birthday. The owner, Isis, greeted me very warmly and was very professional. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment time to be irritated by the stylist, Fante', arriving 15 minutes late past the scheduled appointment time. Meaning I waited for 30 minutes before services could begin. Once the services begin, the stylist was very nice, but the service was poor. The service cost $85 and the stylist used products in the hair that had chemicals in it and are not made for natural hair and my hair did not look freshly serviced (the roots did not look freshly manicured). I also asked the stylist about inner-loc services, a technique where a tool is used to tighten the hair, and he quoted me a price for $150 if I came to see him one month after my birthday loc grooming. Once I got home and truly inspected my hair, I noticed that the stylist twisted my hair in a direction that would prevent the hair from locking quickly. meaning that the hair that had grown out before the service, still would not be locked on the follow-up visit. Maybe the stylist did this so he could charge more on the follow up visit, I'm not sure, but I was not satisfied, I feel taken advantage of and will not recommend anyone to this stylist! The only benefit of my experience was the complimentary wi-fi service that was provided by the owner.
