  I love this place! The guy working the counter is always friendly, they have surprisingly good selection (esp if you’re interested in meats), and other shoppers are friendly.

  An underrated small local grocery store. The prices are great here but the selections are sometimes limited which is perfectly OK with me.

  Wow I was really impressed this store had everything I needed to enjoy Thanksgiving because my other plans fell through I give them a big thumbs up 👍🏽 🙂

  Great place to buy fresh meat, very high quality with reasonable prices. Wonderful neighborhood market in which you can get fresh vegetables. Way cheaper than going to the regular grocery store. This is a place everybody needs to shop. Thank you for cleaning up the area. Customers appreciate that. Keep up the good work

  So glad Gazzali's is in the Golden Gate neighborhood. People I know come from other parts of Oakland and other cities just to shop the fresh meat counter and be able to get ethnic seasonings. I was worried about the fate of the store, formally known as Gateway, when I learned the owners were selling. Homage is paid to Gateway by the large mural painted on the side of the building facing the parking lot. Fun fact: Before Gateway, it was a SAFEWAY!
