  This review is focused on happy hour. Gaslight Tavern happy hour is worth stopping in for! The drink specials are above average for DC but the service and atmosphere set it apart. Service is available for the back bar and patio. The staff is attentive and friendly. Gaslight Tavern's decor is great and evokes the height of the roaring 20's.

  Danielle is the sweetest waitress! The food was excellent, and the beer was too! Don't skip on the bluefish, certainly a highlight!

  The Hilton Bros have a hit with this grown up “neighborhood” “tavern”. Even though the place is brand new, it has a handsome, lived-in feel. The bar is made of warm toned copper, there is lots of wood and moss green wallpaper. The Art Deco light fixtures will oversee many a Tinder date. The drinks are unabashed classics — Bees Knees, Sazerac, Corpse Reviver, Derby. No penicillin surprisingly. Tried the sausage with a side of fries. With no gastropub pretensions, they were competent and balanced. Will try the poutine next time. A place of hushed comfort half a block north of U and a world away from Brixton. There is even glassed indoor outdoor space and a small back patio. The gas fireplaces look almost real. You’d want to be gaslighted and believe.

  Lovely bar! The cocktails are fantastic, the staff is great, and the vibe is so cozy!
