I visited the Future of Sports with four of my friends on Wednesday night. We absolutely loved it! The overall “mission” or “unifying message” of the exhibiton could definitely be more explicit— I think some people were confused about what these sports had to do with the future or why they were artistically displayed in the first place. However, that is a relatively easy fix and it didn’t take away from the actual experience by any means. In my opinion, the reason for the exhibition was to use art and sports—two things that can bring people together regardless of background, gender, race, age, sexuality, etc.—to create a space where everyone could hang out and enjoy an experience together. The Future of Sports was a massive success from this perspective. I also really appreciated the freedom it offered visitors. You could choose to focus more on the art, you could interact with the sports, or you could relax and be a passive observer—in this way it was brilliant. It wasn’t overly didactic like most museums/exhibitions. It allowed the visitors to shape their own experience. The Future of Sports is breaking barriers. There is enormous potential here... I hope to see more pop-up exhibitions like this in the future!

Props for the creativity and giving DC photographers something to explore, but if you're on a budget, it's not worth it. It's $20 after 5PM and on weekends ($15 before 5PM during the week) and will only take you 15-30 minutes to go through. The entire exhibit is in the basement and it moves you through room after room of art made from sporting equipment. The first room equips you with markers to sign a white washed locker room. Then it moves you through bright colored rooms of tennis, basketball, stationery bikes, soccer, and even a sand volleyball court. Again, if you love photography, it may be worth it, but if you're a casual visitor, save your money.

$15 before 5 pm is unfortunately isn’t worth it. You can take nice pictures but not so much of a great/fun experience. Unique concept but it’s definitely not futuristic

Don’t waste your money. We stayed all of 5 minutes and left. When you first walk in it looks like a space that was painted by 5th graders. You go downstairs to a room that you can write your name in its walls. That rooms opens to small room with a tennis net where you can play an UP CLOSE game of tennis. You awkwardly either get watched by those coming behind or you watch those already playing. You then walk into a room with several hanging punching bags that you can’t punch. This leads to a small room with a volleyball net that’s set in a SAND pit. By then you will see how much a waste of money it is. After backtracking out of those rooms, we came across a room with a basketball hoop, balls, and a scoreboard. After realizing that we lost money on the exhibit AND parking, I HAD to write a review so that no one else will lose their money on such garbage.
