::Path to restaurant looks very scary and we were not sure where we are going, however the restaurant is delicious. We enjoyed the time a lot and had a very tasty steak. New York is awesome on various food places and you cannot judge by outside look :)

::Freeman's is a NYC gem! Such a cool vibe here, so many rooms and sections to the place. Both the drinks and the food are thoughtfully crafted as is the atmosphere. Somehow, even in Manhattan, Freeman's remains one of those places off the beaten path.

::What a gem. Simply beautiful place. Food was above average, french toast was amazing. Wonderful off the beaten path place that felt like "real" New York due to smart design/style. Also keep it in mind as a great location for a Group event due to 25ish person private rooms. Staff was also surprisingly polite -- somehow making child's spilled drink a pleasure to clean up. I left very happy, even lucky... didn't even look at the bill.

::The "hidden" gem has been here for years and I've only been twice but after this last experience I may go more often. Seriously it was the best, most juiciest piece of chicken breast I've ever had. This boneless masterpiece came with these pickled mushrooms and roasted turnip cubes over this creamy sauce from the Gods! My wife got the whole grilled fish with a side of mash potatoes. The fish was perfectly cooked and tasted extremely fresh. With only a garnish of a half char-grilled lemon I thought the fish plate was rather empty, especially for the price we paid. I'm glad I got the chicken though as it left me speechless. Quality meat this good however comes at a hefty price! You're looking to pay between 26 and 34 dollars a plate and that's not including sides. For an additional 10 bucks you can get a good portion of mash potatoes that can feed 2 people and it's delicious. The wine selection is serious! There was a whole separate menu 3 or 4 pages thick of wine bottle selections. Or there is an option to get glasses of wine ranging between 10 to 15 bucks which is not bad at all. Lastly let's talk about the ambience. The place is dark and discrete. Very romantic spot for an anniversary or intimate conversation. Please DON'T bring your kids here! And I'd suggest reserving for a table upstairs as it's less busy.

::An LES staple that can be a pricey night out, but that comes with great ambiance. Try the roasted artichoke dip, it will blow you away. This place can be pretty dark, and usually involves a wait. Great cocktails, including classic ones. Your best bet is to grab a Manhattan/Old Fashioned, do the aforementioned Artichoke Dip, and then bite into a classic dish like a juicy steak or perfectly cooked piece of fish.
