  I have used Food Merchants 25+ times over 3yrs to cater all my Hackathons (3 days, 6 meals, 165p, ~$13k) in NYC and whenever a conference venue allows me to use my own caterers Food Merchants is my top pick. They are hands down 10x better than other caterers I've used in NYC. The food quality and freshness is outstanding and the price is incredibly affordable. They allow you to pick 10+ kinds of assorted sandwiches (crab cake, grilled salmon, turkey/brie, avocado chicken salad, etc) in one meal from their 20+ on the menu, multiple kinds of salads (kale crunch, quinoa, couscous, beet/goat cheese, dozen+ options) and let you choose several for one meal. The hot panini sandwiches are phenomenal and always a big hit. I've mostly selected pasta options for dinners- all of which come hot, not over cooked, fresh ingredients, really good restaurant quality. They always arrive on time, dressed appropriately, I've used their bartenders for networking events as well. Attendees always compliment us on our food and ask who the caterers were. I actually seek out venues that allow me to bring my own caterers. I've learned over the yrs even if the rent on a venue is super affordable to watch for the hidden costs from having to use one of their caterers which easily run double to triple what I pay with food merchants.
