  A small garden hugging the highway. In July there were a few varieties of flowers. You can walk between the beds. It is a bit small though!

  A collection of periennial flower beds. Nice to walk by between the Washington Monument and the Tidal Basin. Check it out in the Spring.

  The Tulip Library (aka the Floral Library) is a hidden and overlooked gem near the Tidal Basin, the middle, forgotten child amongst cherry blossoms and swan boats. Established in 1969 as part of Lady Bird Johnson's Capital Beautification Project, the Floral Library has over 90 flower beds maintained by the National Park Service. These beds contain tulips or annuals depending on what's been planted that season. Located on the north side of the Tidal Basin, the Floral Library is a secret garden that is often stumbled upon but never looked for. There are nearly 100 varieties of tulips on display. More than 10,000 bulbs are flown in from Holland and the Netherlands each year to be planted by hand. Typically, the flowers bloom in early April to This year, the tulips have bloomed in conjunction with the cherry blossoms. When I came across this library, there were so many people meandering through the tulip beds and taking pictures. There are so many varieties and even some exotic species you can't see everyday. Stop by the Floral Library for a visit. This is a well-kept and underappreciated garden in the heart of D.C. Cherry blossoms aren't the only flowers worth seeing!
