::In search of a late night quaff. Walked past street after street in lower Chelsea where bars/lounges were either closed, or guarded by swaying packs of men and women; none that I wanted to fight through to get a drink, or to sit near as I tried to imbibe it. Found Flatiron Lounge, thankfully. Pretty grown-n-sexy, comparatively. Loved the decor. Loved the drink I didn’t have to fight anyone - nor wait for twenty minutes - to get. Loved the music I could hear but not need to yell to talk over. Loved the service. Loved the space. Great place! 👍🏻👍🏻

::Very good cocktails are served inside a very vintage-looking, intimate space. The building dates back to 1910, and the bar was built in 1927 for another establishment, serving the likes of Frank Sinatra and other celebrities before it was moved to its current home. At $15 each, these craft cocktails are a steal by NYC standards. Happy Hour runs 4-6 Monday through Friday and features $10 cocktails. On Sunday nights, there is live traditional jazz and swing music.

::Among the best cocktails in Manhattan, cozy lounge with dark lighting and comfy chairs. Not overly crowded when full. Frequently closed for private events so check ahead. No food, just drinks. This was one of my favorite places due to the bartending quality and overall cool vibe, but on a recent visit the jazz background was replaced with loud 80s music which for me spoils the whole thing. I'll put that 5th star back in my rating if they go back to the old ways.

::A great little art deco bar in the style of great Gatsby - stylish and with great Manhattan coctails. The service is very friendly and accommodating. One minus point is the music - it used to be a nice low jazz and now it is just an average pop music, pretty loud, making it almost impossible to talk. Such a place should not play any other muaic but jazz, as it is the only one that goes with the interior. Please don't spoil it with this low bar contemporary pop trash

::Really nice place! Very cozy and intimate! The servers were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the drink menu. We had two gripes. The tables were a bit too close to each other so if you had more than 2 people in a group it was a bit difficult to manuever and too easy to bump into your neighbor. The other gripe was the cocktail flight was not tasty. Many of the drinks tasted just of alcohol.
