  5 Points Tavern has been my favorite local restaurant for a while. The food always surpasses expectations. Even when it's something I've eaten several times (lamb burger, cassoulet Ola Mae, mussels) I'm never disappointed. At my last visit the special was a Tamari-brined halibut atop a shitake mushroom flan or something--I don't know, it was smooth and mushroomy but not heavy or sweet or milky. It was amazing on it's own and I would give this place five stars for that. But then the chef spoke with our table and recommended a moderately-priced Syrah for a wine pairing. The full-bodied wine didn't overpower the fish as I was afraid it would, and instead it perfectly complemented the smoky mushroom flavor. That was just the last time I was there. I could've chosen any other night and written some massive, rambling post. They've got the best hamburger in town with the best French fries. The pasta with lamb ragout. The aforementioned lamb burger and cassoulet. Bottom line: my favorite restaurant in town.

  so, the most recent review was negative & almost kept us from coming here. However, luck prevailed and here we are. To start, the manager seated us as if we were brothers & sisters from another mother. Everyone we encountered from then on was just as friendly & courteous. Next the food, oooooohhhhh the food! Currently too full to walk, so here I sit, writing this review. The pics don't do it justice. Huge portions of palate pleasing fresh selections, perfectly seasoned and cooked. HIGHLY recommend

  We stopped to have a beer outside. The atmosphere is great. The mussels were amazing. Our bartender was very nice. All around a great experience, we will be back :)

  We visited Five Points Tavern for my husband's birthday brunch. First of all, you walk in and it completely takes your breath away. The tile floors, chic tables, and soft music creates an beautiful and inviting atmosphere. The staff are the definition of fine dining. We did not expect the food to be so amazing. The entire table ordered the chicken and waffles and I think our eyes popped out of our heads when our food arrived. It tasted just as good as it looked. The best waffles I have ever had and the side of golden, crispy potatoes I got were amazing! We can't wait to go back!

  Good ambience, great bar and bar service.. bartender was friendly. The old fashion had a lil twist with the two bitters and hit the spot. Food was good. Mussels were delicious. They have a decent overall menu and the steak and pork chops are meant be to really good, but I wasn't in the mood for a heavy meal. A lot of locals recommended this place and their food which is generally a very good sign..overall, a really good spot.
