  First Unitarian Society is a welcoming, inclusive place. It’s such an awesome community without the strict religious restrictions. People come from all types of faith backgrounds and all are accepted. Their services consist of literary readings, songs, etc. It’s refreshing to be in a space where people are cognizant of their privilege and ability to help others in the name of social justice. Perfect place for families, atheists, students, jewish folks, people inching out of christianity ... really anyone! I feel so fortunate to have found FUS.

  If you want a secular community rooted in the values of human dignity, freedom, and diversity, this is the place for you. The original humanist congregation, this institution has a century-long history of social activism, and ties to local humanist organizations. It’s got the positive community aspects of a church, without any expectation of religious belief.

  I love the people here: freethinking, creative, caring for each other, listening well to the excellent talks, joining in discussions, finding ways that we collaborate in projects for social justice, trying to defend our global human civilization against others' attacks, celebrating life well lived with music and other arts. Come Sundays by 10:30am and plan to stay for refreshments and conversations with other women and men, including the leaders whom we choose as well as with me and the other members who have found this amazing congregation.
