I work here so I am biased. That said at First Baptist you will find a beautiful sanctuary, worship services in both traditional (11:00 AM) and relaxed contemporary (8:45 AM) styles. You will also find kind, warm, and welcoming faces and plenty of food.

So beautiful; love this church. I often attend Bridgetown Church there in Sunday nights at five, and it's wonderful.

As a disabled homeless person with a service animal (as well as Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology) I find it DEPLORABLE that you would deny us entry in The Feed soup kitchen... Yes, the ADA exempts churches from requiring entry... but it is STILL discrimination... I wonder what JESUS would have to say about this...but as I am finding more and more common in the religious community, that doesnt matter anymore. The law may support your discrimination, but WRONG IS STILL WRONG... I find it interesting that Bishop James Malone, then Chairman of the Domestic Policy Committee of the U.S. Catholic Conference stated ""In passing the law, Congress took into account concerns raised by a number of religious denominations. The employment section of the law applies to religious employers, but contains limited exceptions relating to religious preferences and conformity to religious tenets......This does not mean or suggest, however, that our strong and continuing support for the full inclusion of our sisters and brothers who have disabling conditions is lessened or limited. We oppose unfair discrimination, not because it may be illegal, BUT BECAUSE IT IS WRONG [emphasis mine]. It diminishes both persons with disabilities and the entire Catholic community."....at least THEY understand what TRUE religion and charity is all about (James 1:27).... Your stand, whether protected by law or not, is proof that your denomination and church is an old, archaic, and hypocritical entity and I look forward to the day when your brand of religion is eradicated from the planet... Its a shame that you can SELECT to refuse to do GODS WORK for a person that already has EXTREME limitations in life, not to mention the fact that they are also homeless by no choice of their own, simply because the law of the land allows you to. What a pitiful and sick society we have become when we treat the very poorest and most disadvantaged the way you do simply because "you can". You are all that is wrong with the world. If you are an example of god... he must be a pretty pitiful and terrible Being... BE ASSURED, if there IS a god, and on the day you meet Him face to face and he asks you why you refused to FEED THE POOR (without preference) (IS 58:7, 10; Ezek. 18:7; Mt 10:42; Prov 14:31,19:17,21:13, 22:9, 25:21; ; ;Romans 12:13, 20; James 2:15-17; 1 John 3:17-18; Gal 5:13; 6:2, Phill. 2:4), your claim that "we didnt have to because the ADA said so" isnt going to save you, but you will hear these words..."Depart from me, ye cursed for I never knew you (Matt, 25:41). I dont condemn you...your god already has. SHAME ON YOU!!!!
