  It's unique because it shows classic movies just like they were seen when they first came out. It even shows silent movies with a live pianist for special effects.

  We love this place, especially for old French films, but beyond that: Saw a spaghetti Western today, plan to see Japanese films next week PLUS a documentary on Hitler's Hollywood. You don't get that at the local multiplex.

  This place is great. If you like films with an academic interest, this is your place. The staff is usually really cool. Free popcorn for students on Mondays is always a plus.

  Is it cramped, old with some questionable sight lines? Who cares!!! It's a cinema gem. There's no other theater to see the films they show. And they'll be renovating and expanding. Go and support this irreplaceable institution.
