No wonder the rating is bad. I called for a few times for the past 30 min before I come here now to confirm the appointment to try to make sure I don't come here for nothing, but no one picked up the phone. When I came here and asked, they said yeah they were a lil busy. Excuse me?! I called for 7 times and there was only one customer when I arrived. The worst thing is that the banker I had appointment with is NOT HERE NOW as I am currently sitting in the bank writing this comment and waiting for another 20 min or more probably for another banker to help me for just setting up some online banking account that I opened 2 weeks ago. This has been the 3rd time I came here for simply opening a checking account. Worst experience I've ever had with a bank.

Students be aware. I was being charged monthly service charge since December. I reached out to the bank and could not get the reason for 3 months. Finally I got the response and they stated that my student status expired and I was expected to maintain a minimum balance. There's no proper communication on the account change and the minimum balance required. No email, no text, no call They don't even specify the reason for several months And it's so hard to reach someone in the branch who would take responsibility and the account manager for you. Students be aware and cautious. This is the worst customer service I've experienced with any banking institution.

Zero stars is what this company deserves. They do not care about their clients, nor do they know how to communicate as a company. My last straw with them was when they couldn’t change my name (name change after marriage) without me coming in to the branch. This was after many emails, voicemails, and at least five of their employees including managers telling me that it is not a problem. I live in Utah, so I can’t come in easily or at all during COVID-19. However, the most frustrating aspect is I’ve waited two weeks with multiple conversations and today I finally hear that it’s not possible. How do five people tell me it’s possible, including a manager, and the sixth guy I speak to just says no? I’m sure I could call back and speak to someone else about the matter, but to be honest this is one of many circumstances where they have failed me, and I feel it is best I find a new bank.

DO NOT USE THIS BANK!!!!! I have a small dealership and needed a lien release on a car I own that they signed off on. Fifth third gave me a major run around the main person who answered the phone was the only pleasant person I talked to. Everyone else was very rude said they couldn’t help out. I call banks all the time and never have a problem with this. I would hate to have a real problem with money in this bank!

Have been a 5/3rd banker for years, decided when I graduated college to separate from my mothers' attached account. I have had issues with 5/3rd mostly regarding fraud issues so I decided I wanted to completely switch banks. My incoming bank, Chase, made the process seamless on their end.. on 5/3rds end.. it was a nightmare. I went in and requested a check for the funds in my account to which the banker I worked with wrote out the WRONG amount (off by nearly $2000). My accounts were not closed after multiple requests to do so.. and the real zinger- I asked them to close my credit card account as well (to which they also initially didn't) once they finally closed a credit card, they didn't close mine.. they closed my mother's. My mother was never in contact with the bank during my separation process and never signed off on her card being closed. Both her and my name was attached to my card and only her name was on hers, so it should have been very obvious to them to not close the account that didn't have my name on it. They were unapologetic to the blatant mistake. 5/3rd, or at the very least, this branch, doesn't seem to know the meaning of due diligence.
