Fiesta is conveniently located about 5 blocks from the metrorail that runs on North Main at Quitman street intersection. You will see James Ketelsen Elementary School as you walk towards the fiesta. If you have children, you can stop at the Sparks Park, which is a brand new park with beautiful shady oak trees surrounding the play area. There are tables, and a very spacious playground with slides and other playing instruments, including a covered patio area. You can find a Walgreens at Quitman and Gentry street, and right across from Walgreens is Fiesta. There is a bus route right outside of Fiesta, bus number 79, for those that ride metro and like to go shopping, you can use a shopping cart, where you can carry from about 6 to 8 grocery bags, perhaps more depending on how large the items in the bags are. On the other side of Fiesta, you can find Houston Public Library Carnegie Regional Branch (1050 Quitman). Northside High School is across the street from the library and behind the library, Marshall Middle School. The Neighborhood seems very peaceful, and there is a lot of housing development currently taking place. Fiesta stores usually have a service center where people can pay their utility bills. Some Fiestas have taquerias. Inside this particular Fiesta location there is a taqueria offering tacos, tortas, aguas frescas, caldos (vegetable soups with chicken or beef), etc. They have fresh tortillas and pastries (Mexican sweet bread such as: ojarascas, bolillos, donas, conchas, quesadillas de arroz, orejas, cakes, cookies, mantecadas con nuez, cupcakes, etc). In the produce section you can find a great variety of fresh fruit, like mangos, pineapples, papayas, pears, tomatoes, freshly cut fruit ready to eat in plastic containers. You can find tofu in the section where the packaged lettuce is, together with the egg roll wrappers, and mushrooms. Other things available include aromatic herbs, like mint, and avocados at good prices. You can find many products from Mexico, like piloncillo, granola Mexican style, nopalitos ready to cook, and some vegetarian products like textured dehydrated soy, fresh corn, and everything you need to make tamales, including dried peppers, husks, and maseca. Also available they have the fresh ginger root, jamaica, and other drinks like, Topochico, Fanta, Jarritos, Jugos Jumex, goya products, leche Nido, Chocolate abuelita, spices, fresh cheeses such as el Mexicano, La Vaquita, Tampiqueño, crema Salvadoreña, chorizo, cookies from Mexico, and Asian products like noodles, teas, rice, teriyaki and chili sauce, and other sauces for marinating. They have fresh flowers, pastas, organic cane sugar, olive oil, and soy, cashew, coconut almond milk. They offer the morning star veggie patties, and by the exit door is a cricket store.

I love my Fiesta store which is close to my residence. I frequently shop there where the prices are very reasonable as well as customer service is excellent in the grocery department. I have had problems cashing payroll checks at their finance department in there though. I go for the groceries and sometimes clothing or hardware.
