  It's beautiful in the spring and summer. Especially if you have kids or pets. There is a full basketball court about 20-30 feet from the childrens slide and jungle gym. There is a pretty big softball field another hundred feet facing the opposite direction. There are also a lot of concrete tables and barbicue grills. It's actually my families favorite picnic area. Though there are no bathrooms in the direct vicinity i do believe they are working on the ones up on lemon hill, which is about a football field up the hill.

  If you are stuck in the city looking for something to do away from all the crowds this is a nice area to just go out for a walk or whatever.

  Fairmount Park is the city's biggest and most beautiful open space. My favorite part about the park is the Mann amphitheater. Bring a blanket and lay in the open field and enjoy live music every week of the summer.
