The Fairmont is a stunning hotel which anticipates your every need. Although I was staying there for a work event, it was a great experience. The location also allows for a quick jaunt over to Georgetown on a nice day.

The Fairmont was exceptional. The rooms and the lobby were beautiful. Gaby the concierge is wonderful and warm - ask for her specifically and you will be taken care of!

I came to DC for a conference. It is far from the conference center at 1.7 miles so walking can take over 30min, or ideal if weather is too hot or too cold. I stay at Fairmont quite a bit - one is ok. By comparison, the lobby decor is medium, the front desk service is mediocre, cafe and food is mediocre, the gym and pool is small and fragmented from the hotel (and closes too early at 10pm). This one is the worst, my wife slipped coming out of the shower and she hurt her hip and gashed her knee quite badly, bleeding quite a bit. And when I called the front desk, they forwarded me to security who came up, but did not seem well trained at all providing simple first aid measures such as pressure and gauze and ice. I would think such a luxury hotel would have incident reporting procedures and maybe even a cola by the guest assistant manager to see how she's doing or if you need a wheelchair, which she did given the difficulty walking for the couple days we stayed. No such procedures were in place so hopefully they could improve their incident protocol. If I come back to D.C., I would try another hotel chain , especially since the Fairmont Presidents Club is coming to an end. Gabriel Chu

Not impressed. Luxury hotels often offer amenities that non-luxury hotels usually provide for free. No complimentary water offered upon arrival, no 24-hour gym, no late check out upon request. If you want bang for your buck would not recommend. Also my hair dryer was grimy and sticky. Even the lower end hotels I've stayed at in DC didn't have such issues.

Amazing hotel. Everything from the building to the staff shows perfection. The lobby is very inviting and vibrant. Amenities are great and plentiful. Several great restaurants to dine at. The juniper restaurant is a very good choice for a relaxing, quiet, classy, and upscale dining experience. Have some amazing seafood appetizers and entrees.
