  This is an outstanding salon. All staff are talented and gracious. Beautiful clean space. I've used every service here and all are excellent. Really good prices, too.

  If you're looking for a professional, upscale, midtown salon this is NOT the place for you. I scheduled a 5:00pm appointment this past Saturday with a stylist named Elvira. I called the salon at 4:50pm and told them I was walking from the train station and would be a few minutes late. I got to the salon at 5:08pm. When I walked in I was introduced to Elvira. She seemed a bit upset that I was late (8 minutes) so I apologized. I told her I wanted a blowout. That I prefer the top of my hair to be flat with curls on the bottom. I asked her if she knew how to curl using the flat iron, and she said " I can not do that. Better if you see another stylist. Let's see who is available." There were no other stylists available. So I asked her if she could curl it using the round brush and she said she could. So I told her that would be fine. She looked upset (still) because she kept looking at the time. It's now about 5:20pm. I was given a wash and she starts to do my hair. I notice she seems to be in a hurry as she's doing it. But I just stayed quiet, and in my phone. About 20 minutes later my hair is dried.... and it's curled. She shuts the blow dryer off (as if she is done) My hair is still not even parted. It's dry but not styled. No part. It was undone. She prompts me to look in the mirror and asks "Is this good enough?" I said "Would you mind if I put a part in it? and could you go over the top again please? It's not flat." My fair was frizzy and just overall not done. She sighs. Doesn't say a word. Just sighs and quickly lets me part my hair myself and she "went over" the top of my hair. It took her about an additional minute to do so. When she's "done" she doesn't say a word. She puts her blow dryer away (while I'm still looking in the mirror at my hair" and she begins to pack her things as if she is going home. I stop her and ask her if she could fix the front piece. It was still a bit frizzy and not curled. She IGNORES me. Takes her bag and walks away into the restroom. Now I'm sitting in the chair dumbfounded that this woman really just ignored me, and walked away from me. I turn to the receptionist and ask her "Is she always this rude?" The receptionist asks me what happened and I told her she was not done with my hair, and in the middle of me telling her what I wanted she walks away. As I am explaining this to the receptionist Elvira comes out of the bathroom and asks the receptionist if there was a problem. I said "Yes. You walked away from me as I was explaining what I wanted done to my hair. You're extremely unprofessional." The stylist then tells me (and I quote) I was "nice enough to do your hair. You came in late. And I did your hair. That's how I did it. I don't know what to tell you." Now I'm LIVID I asked her if she was having a bad day. I was in awe that she was so nasty, and I was 8 minutes late. What kind of excuse is that? If you're in such a rush to go home don't book a 5pm appointment. I am a PAYING customer why would you act as if you're doing me a favor?! Then she gets in my face. Now me and this "professional stylist" are having a shouting match in the salon. She then accused me of complaining because I wanted a free blowout. Mind you I PAID for this terrible service. I will NEVER be going back to this salon. For the prices they charge they really do not match the service. I was told a manager would be reaching out to me today (Monday) regarding this incident. It is now 3:30pm and no one has called me. I have friends that also frequent this salon and they will no longer be going for services either. The treatment I received there was insane. Forget rushing through my hair. Forget trying to pawn me off to another stylist as soon as I walk in. But she WALKED AWAY from me as I was explaining to her what I wanted. By far the most unprofessional thing a stylist can do. I paid, and walked out unhappy with the way I looked and the way I was treated. Never ever again.

  This place is amazing. Price is just right and the people are wonderful. I have been getting my hair cut here, by Xochitl (aka: Sophie), for the past 6 years. She is a miracle worker. Can not say enough good things about her and this place. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Do yourself a favor and make an appointment with her today.

  Great experience, we are just visiting NY and I needed a quick bang trim and my husband needed a cut. We were staying a few doors down at the Refinery Hotel so we popped in on a Saturday afternoon. We both got straight in even though they were consistently busy. Danny asked how I like my bangs and cut them like the pro he obviously is and Martha did exactly what my hubby wanted and he was really happy. Reasonable price for the midtown location and everyone was really lovely. Would definitely recommend if you need a hairdresser in the W 38th area.
