I BELIEVE IN 2ND CHANCES!!! After a discussion with Ms. Dawn last night, I do believe in 2nd chances. I believe that with the help of Dawn and Ms. Rita, and all of the other caring educators, this school will see some positive changes happening over the next few months. Dawn was the director at Regency when I was a student and I believe her when she told me that positive change is going to happen at this school. I know that she really cares about our education and our futures. I believe this change will make a big difference in the way students look at their education here. Hats off to Ms. Rita and Dawn for being relentless at implementing an enrichment program for us students close to graduation. I believe we will see some more students pass state boards their first go at it, with this new program. Change may or may not come before I graduate, but I'm very hopeful to the students still in school on receiving the education they deserve. With that said, you get what you give, so STUDENTS, you're only going to get what you put into YOUR education. Thank you Dawn for easing my mind that their are directors and educators at our school who do indeed care about us being successful in the cosmetology industry and reminding me that 2nd chances are a part of life. I am a current night student getting ready to graduate- As a professional, I never write bad reviews, however, this is a warning to people out there who are considering this school for their cosmetology education. It needs to be known because we don't need any inexperienced or uneducated cosmetologists out there, but more educated ones. The education is by far less than mediocre. EXAMPLE: some of the instructors haven't taken boards in years, so in reality, how are they supposed to teach a state board practical pre-test? A couple of the instructors don't even know what cut we are supposed to do for board. I really feel bad for the director, Dawn, who has spent countless amounts of her time trying to get things done but the corporate office just continues to tie her hands who then ties Rita, an instructor, to assist in a continued education program for the enrichment students. The night students rarely get the education that the day students get because we haven't had a permanent instructor so we just get bypassed for everything. We have a new instructor, Christy, who is seriously just trying to find consistency in a school who doesn't have consistency, starting from the Corporate office down. To top it off, we never have product to do services on clients. EXAMPLE: one of my fellow night students was getting ready to perm a clients hair when she realized, we don't even have perm solution. Another EXAMPLE: no back bar to wash a clients hair-seriously??? And nail polish-well if you like 50 shades of purple or green, please stop by for a manicure-haha!! The corporate office had been down the last 2 days to say they are here to help, but that too is a joke. They wanted to tell us the exciting news- they are going to paint our interior walls a different color nation wide- OMG!!!! A joke!!!! They seriously think that's important vs. our education. Corporate office is more worried that you are following the dress code guidelines vs. really looking to see if the students that are graduating from Empire, can actually do the services without assistance from an instructor. I know people will laugh at that statement alone because they closed down without notice, but they closed down because they went bankrupt for what ever reason, but not from a lack of educating the students. The only good that came out of my being at this school was the amazing friendships I created with some amazing talented people. The only reason why this school stays afloat is from the thousands of dollars us students pay and because in all reality, there are a few instructors here who really care about their students.

I used to be a student here. I was very close to graduating then some personal stuff happened. I tried to drop myself because its easier to enroll again especially with financial assistance. I tried contacting the new person who handles this stuff "Dawn" never once did she ever get back to me I even tried going into her office. She was always "busy". Or never there! Which eventually resulted in me being kicked out of the program. Now I owe the school all kinds of money that their not getting because it was completely unfair. I loved what I was learning my clients and the teachers and friends I made. But I would NEVER go back to this school. Now i hear they fired one of the best teachers there smh. Lack of responsibility is what they are all about. Wish I could rate a ZERO !!

The instructor Dawn is so very sweet! I went to empire today to apply for the classes. It seems like new management because this place is very professional and polite. I saw a student cutting a woman's hair and she was just smiling and talking to the woman trying to get to know her and she seemed very confident in what she was doing. The products I saw are very good salon quality products. The students all seemed very happy and polite. I was treated with dignity and Dawn got to know me as a person, not a dollar sign for the tuition. I'm very excited to start classes here and I think the people who made negative reviews should go back to salon now that things changed just to see the difference in the atmosphere. The place is clean and well kept. I don't see people this happy working at Regis or great clips. I will update as I go through my training. =)
