  Emerald Necklace Martial Arts in Allston is THE place to check out, especially if you always wanted to try karate as a kid, but never did. The adult classes are fun, taught by a very friendly instructor in a supportive environment. Men and women train together, learning physical skills plus the history and traditions of karate. This is traditional martial arts -- NOT ultimate fighting. It is a great way to meet new people, make some friends, and get in shape. The dojo (training hall) is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip! Lots of parking, too. Check them out!
