We stayed here on purpose and rented a car. We expected to have easy entry to the hotel, a pool, a hot tub, a nice lounge, etc. You know, all thee things you stay at an Embassy Suites for. Construction ruined all of that. Had to walk around the hotel to come inside. No pool, not hot tub. No lounge. Had to take an elevator to get from the front to the back of the hotel on the 1st floor. And this isn't the first time construction has surprised me at this chain. From now on, I will be calling the hotel before booking. If there's any construction, I am staying at a Marriott.

A picture is worth a thousand words!!! Here a 9 photos to summarize my room. Over $200 a night you get old, busted up lamp shades and black out curtains, extra dirt and stains on carpet, ceiling containing asbestos peelind AND as an added BONUS, a dead bug plastered onto the wall and the icing, a ROACH frozen in time in the refrigerator!!! Not to mention that when you request for items PRIOR to your arrival, you don't get them, the Front Desk doesn't review the rate or confirm your stay or gives you directions, especially when there's construction going on! There's no signage or arrows telling you how to access the building. Anyways, these are just a few items/issues from my first and last stay here.

Came here on a points visit vacation with my wife. Wish I would have went to another property. Everything about this location is shameful. The front desk staff are either inept, rude, or both. The downtown shuttle is a joke (and also rude). The construction that is supposed to start and end at certain times, certainly didn’t. The room was dirty upon check in. The laundry facilities barely worked ($10 for two loads and the dryers didn’t even work). The breakfast and managers reception were terrible. And upon my original check in I was given the wrong room for what my reservation was for, and I was told by the desk clerk at that point that I’d have to wait until morning because “he was too busy.” This hotel made my stay in SF horrible, and I’ll be damned if I ever come back again.

Stay away! Far away until all this construction is done or you will regret it! I will give them 1 star because they were under construction. If I could have given them 0 stars, I would have. $200 for a night ($224 after taxes) and I had a terrible experience. Not only was it a nightmare trying to find the lobby, but the staff seemed disjointed while checking people in. The room was OK. But there was so much noise and my curtains were falling off the wall. The carpet and bedspreads were old and stained. I slept fair even with all the airplane noise. Of course, as soon as it was light, I was awake due to not being able to block out the light. I tried to cool down the room. Didn’t want to cool down even though I dropped the temperature significantly in the room. The AC unit was really loud all night long. Next comes the morning. Being tired, I wanted a nice warm shower. Stood in there for 10 minutes waiting for the water to get hot. Finally decided to shower anyway as I needed to get going. Nothing like a cold shower to wake you up. Breakfast is normally something I look forward to at Embassy Suites. Not this time. It was seriously reduced to a bare minimum. Not the total breakfast experience I would normally expect. For the price, it wasn’t worth it. Maybe after they finish the renovation. But to charge what they do and also charge $27 for parking, I won’t stay here again anytime soon.

RUN AWAY!!! Worst hotel stay I've had in years. Hotel is under massive construction. It doesn't even have a front entrance. The place is a disaster. Air conditioning doesn't work. Wifi barely works. Airport shuttle was 15 minutes late then took 30 minutes to go 2 miles. It goes to other hotels first and they are far away. I could go on...
