Poorly maintained property that was a disaster when their elevators were down for the weekend. Reportedly the main fly wheel on one of the three guest elevators failed and was a safety issue, dropping the never-enough Embassy Suites elevators to two. At one point I saw more than 20 people waiting to get onto the elevator. The hotel staff were nonchalant about the 15-20 minute wait to get on the elevators. My understanding is the management knew repairs were not possible before the weekend, but they chose not to advise guests (classy move!). Most of the guests switched to using the stairs, but had to hold their noses. The stairways were smelly and SE corner stair tower had obvious trip hazards from poor maintenance. I heard one guest opine that they thought the homeless were using the stairways for a toilet (I did not see that, but did smell very musty smells). The rooms are dated, with lots of scuffs and wear. Nothing terribly dirty but also not spic and span. Small bathrooms have poor ventilation and the windows to the rooms are sealed shut. Minifridges were small and had broken plastic pieces in both our rooms. The one bright spot was strong hot water in the shower. Breakfast food was pretty rough - the poorest Embassy Suites food I have experienced (compared to ten others in the last five years). The staff were extremely pleasant; however, Midwestern hospitality did not make up for the slimy melon or runny eggs. At least three people in my party decided to forgo breakfast the second day after the first experience.

The Embassy Suites was beautiful and the place offered a nice restaurant that stayed open late. The server we had was fantastic and very accommodating. They had only 2 of the 3 elevators running while we were there and they were busy so it took extra time to get to and from the lobby area. The room we we're assigned to had a musty odor and the a/c didn't work very efficient. It was a little warm and muggy for comfort. We did mention that to the front desk upon check out so they are aware if the situation.

The location is nice. There are museums close by and you can easily walk to the plaza. It is sort of noisy, but that is to be expected when you are next to Hospital. Lots of ambulance noise. I was not impressed with the hotel as a whole. Our bathroom was incredibly small, we did not have an amenities packet in our room or hotel information. The breakfast and managers reception were nice. There was a broken elevator so a 5-10 minute wait for the elevator was common.

This is my favorite hotel chain and my favorite hotel to stay at in KC. I love the proximity to Westport and the Plaza. However I feel like this particular Embassy Suites has seen better days. One of the 3 elevators was out of commission the entire duration of our visit (we stayed 5 nights). This became quite an issue on the weekend when the hotel became busy. The air conditioning was adequate but the outside temperature never rose above 70. There were multiple other little things that felt tired or on the verge of becoming an issue. I feel like this location is in need of a refresh soon, to maintain the quality that one comes to expect from this franchise. Like I said this is my favorite hotel chain and I prefer to stay at Embassy whenever I travel. Thanks.

I stay in about 200 hotel rooms a year. This is by far the worst Hilton property I've ever stayed in and one of the worst I've been in altogether. The only advantage to this hotel is good location to the bars and restaurants in Westport. The moment I walked into the lobby I smelled a musty smell and was met with a very dated frumpy lobby. I failed to even research that parking was $18 a day. For a non downtown district in the Midwest, that's laughable. I parked a 3 minute walk away on the next street over for free. One of the elevators is out of service, so wait times to use the elevator can easily take 3-5 minutes each way. The room I was assigned had an overwhelming smell in the living room similar to dog food. The bathroom is small and mine reeked of sulfur. The windows are filthy, the wallpaper stained and damaged. Conversation in adjacent rooms can easily be heard through the air vents. Breakfast was underwhelming compared to other Embassy Suites. Powdered eggs, long slow lines for omelettes, and screaming kids running around. Whoever owns this hotel has hit the jackpot as this property is absolutely packed. It's mostly families who I guess don't care they're staying at an overpriced, filthy, dated dump. The owners obviously haven't invested a dime into this property in many years, rip off guests with high parking fees, and offer substandard food and rooms. I'd be livid and mortified if I were in Hilton management. This property falls way outside of Hilton's already inconsistent and just adequate property standards. I booked this hotel due to location and availability despite mixed reviews. I'm shocked how many positive reviews this hotel gets. If you're a family who doesn't care about anything besides free breakfast for your kids and a pool, fine. If you're a frequent business traveler, you'll be shocked by this dilapidated dump.
