I don’t usually write reviews but the reviews here is what helped me, before we went to renew my mom’s passport-thanks to those people who took the time to do it. First thing, for consulate services, their location is at 1617 Massachusetts Ave NW, not on 1600. As far as our experience, everything really went well and fast. We got in at 8:50, and we were out of there at 10:10. The key is you just have to have all the requirements ready. Come here prepared. There’s a buzzer to press to get into the building. For passport renewal/application 1. get a number from windows 1 or 2 if you get there a little late, if you get there early, Someone will be handing out numbers. 2. Your number will be called out at window 2. Requirement needed for brown passport renewal, they only asked 2 photocopies of passport data page and 2 photocopies green card , and self adressed envelope, they’ll mail it to you in a few weeks, that’s what they said to us. But I brought a lot of other supporting docs to make sure, such as birth certificate and proof of marriage. Bring your old passport of course, they’ll look at that 3. Once you’re done at windows 2, they will give you a form to fill out and you’ll give that form to window 1, they’ll call your name at Window 1 for picture and digi finger printing and digi signature 4. sit down when done and then Cashier will call you for payment( exact 60.00 dollars) no card or check. Cash or money order only. 5. After paying you’ll be called again at Encoding room for another photo, finger print and signature, then confirm if all your data is correct. Then you are done! The lady here is very nice. If you come here unprepared, its not going to be a good experience, which is true to all places. They have to be direct cos applicants are in and out. Just help each other out, don’t be Mataray or masungit. Help the elderly. Trust me, it’s not so bad at all, don’t be scared from all the bad reviews, just have all your original documents ready and photocopied. Goodluck! Update! Update! ( May 11) It has only been 4 weeks and my mom’s passport arrived in the mail today. Really fast! Thanks be to the Lord!

We’ve traveled all the way from Richmond Virginia just to be rejected. This office just don’t make anything easier. Nothing on their website or anywhere else that the processing times is from 9-3PM. I’ve wasted time and money just so I can arrive before they closed at 4:30 but I guess that is the Philippines. Makes everything so complicated! I will never renew my passport and just completely break my tie with the Philippines. I’m done and that’s it. It sucks to a filipino. It’s OK. I’ll be American soon.

?? Interesting. It seems like pretty much all of their five star ratings are from people that have not done any other reviews, other than this one. But then again, I think this is also my first ever post on Google…

I was able to get my passport renewed in under 30 minutes. As long as you have all your documents and photocopies prepared, the process is quite easy. Some of the other people that was renewing their passport with me took longer because they did not have their photocopies and their priority mail envelop. Also, keep in mind that if you have the older type of passport, you have different document requirements compared to those with the e-passports so make sure you bring the correct documents. Final advice, if you bring cash to pay, try to have the exact amount since they may not have change on hand.
