My Dad's favorite artist and now mine! I was so greatful that by chance, while traveling I came upon this house. This is my third stop and plan on visiting again. I am a artist and Art Gallery Owner in the Fingerlakes.

Thus is a little gem. A small house that takes very little time to visit. If you are a fan of Edward Hopper seeing the bedroom when sunlight floods in you will immediately recognize where Hopper gets his sense if light. The staff/docents are delightful and very knowledgable. Glad to have fibakky visited this historic place.

A waste of time and money. I was expecting a lot more memorabilia, insights into the artist's life... Something interesting for 7USD! I was so disappointed. Most rooms upstairs were shut to the public, only a bedroom and a crafts studio for visitors to take part in (if at the right time). 2 rooms downstairs had an exhibition of some contemporary artist whose style is at the opposite spectrum of Hopper. The other 2 had the reception/shop and finally some bits of Hopper art / stuff in. There's a lot of potential untapped, a real shame.

It is a quaint little house that helped forge an iconic American artist, and when you visit you can see just how Edward was inspired from his upstairs suite. The view of the Hudson is not the best, but is indeed inspiring. There are done great pieces here to view and the tour is quite a delight.

I very much enjoyed my visit to the Hopper house. Don't expect any of his larger or more famous paintings- but rather the home is filled with intimate views into his personal life and growth as an artist. I loved seeing a variety of drawings and studies of his, as well as some personal artifacts like a set of oil paints. The center also has an exhibit for contemporary artists, which I was not expecting. This month's work was really quite interesting and played nicely off the Hopper legacy. Lastly, they offer a great student's discount and the staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant. A must-visit for any Hopper fan!
