Not cheap, but there is a lot to do. We explored for a few hours before hitting the road and the kids were thoroughly entertained. They did not want to leave. I could easily see an annual pass to make it a little more reasonable for locals. The cafe is overpriced and very slow.

Whoever came up with the idea of children's museums and science play areas should be given an award. I spent almost three hours here with a toddler and enjoyed it almost as much as the toddler. There is so much to see and do here, and any parent/ guardian can easily get engaged in age appropriate lessons about water pressure, hydraulics, fulcrums and the environment. I didn't try imax but I would if the kids were older.

Great resource for Charlotte and the surrounding region. The memberships are very much worthwhile if you have a young family. Memberships also convey to other state attractions such as their other locations, aquariums etc. The IMAX is always fun. There are also adult socials in the evening that are pretty epic! Rotating exhibits keep things fresh. We love this place.

Such a wonderful place to visit! We made the trip down to Charlotte for the day and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately we did pick a day where a bunch of schools wrong field trip so it was very very crazy in the morning. But we took in a wonderful IMAX movie and by the time we got out of the schools have cleared out for the day and we had free range of the place. Tons of Hands-On experiments and amazing rooms dedicated to different learning experiences. My aspiring scientist was in hog heaven all day.

We took the children and had a blast! There was so much to do and EVERYONE found something that piqued their interest. This was well worth the trip. We have children in a range of ages and each of them remained engaged and inspired throughout our visit. We would absolutely visit again. Thank you Discovery Place Science!
